Book Box Library Novels & Stories

she said, pointing at it. "Oh, where should I put this?" "It always goes in Master's private book section. No one takes books from there. I don't know how it got here; maybe someone accidentally mixed it in with the other books. Give it to me, let me put it back." Alexa grabbed it from Emma and went to the other side of the library. There was a small table with a few drawers, and she placed the book securely in one of them. They both exited the room after that, closing the door behind them.

“You’re talking like this house is haunted.” “It is.” “By who?” “The version of me who had more hope and needed less concealer.” Salma let out a quiet laugh. Up ahead, one of the staff members took Sebastian’s coat without disturbing Poppy. Sebastian handed it over with one hand, then shifted the little girl higher against his chest when her head started to droop. I walked into the library on my own. Dark wooden bookshelves covered the walls all the way to the ceiling, the rolling ladder was still on the left, two leather sofas faced the fireplace, and in the corner by the window stood the second vintage lamp I’d chosen along with the one in the foyer.

I stacked the thick books into the bottom of the cardboard box, and I made sure they sat flat so they did not bend during the trip. "You possess too many books, and they are going to make that box very heavy to carry," Michael joked from the sofa. He watched me work with a fond smile on his face, and he kept his hands resting on his injured chest.

I don’t try touching it again. Closing the box, I approach the shelves. I take out the book closest to me. Brushing off the dust, I realize it’s a strategy book, written in delicate penmanship. The paper is fragile, but the tome is bound with great care. The other side of the shelf seems to have hard-bound journals. It’s like an entire couple’s life secured in one small room. I hear a scraping sound, and I turn my head to see Robert picking up a stack of small portraits from one of the iron boxes in the corner.

It was a library—an enormous one, with towering shelves that seemed to stretch endlessly, filled with books of all shapes, sizes, and colors. “This is the pack’s library,” Caden explained. “Everything you need to know about werewolves is here.” I nodded, letting my gaze wander over the rows of books. There was something almost magical about the place, an energy that seemed to hum in the air. Caden gestured for me to follow him as he walked deeper into the building. We stopped in front of a massive iron door. He pulled out a card and swiped it across a panel. With a soft click, the door creaked open.

"The library has received several historical books requested by Mr. Sterling. Mrs. Brooks asked if you'd like to see them before they're catalogued." Valeria smiled. Mrs. Brooks, the elderly housekeeper, had discovered her love for books weeks ago and had made it her quiet mission to ensure the library never lacked something interesting. "I'll come down." The library was one of her favorite places inside the mansion. Unlike the grand sitting rooms and polished reception halls, it didn't feel designed to impress visitors. It felt lived in. Shelves stretched from floor to ceiling. Rolling ladders rested against polished oak. The scent of leather bindings and aged paper lingered in the air. Som

She steps away, going back to her desk at the front. I’ve been coming here most afternoons. People don’t want paper job applications anymore, and without a phone or laptop, the library was my only choice. Now I’m spending almost all of my time here. I was hoping to get a response back from one of the millions of places I’ve put in a job application, but it’s been crickets. All that money spent on fancy prep schools for nothing.

There were so many books that all the bookshelves were full, and some of the tables in the center of the library had books piled on it. "We will need to add more bookshelves~." Susan commented and looked back at Madam Pince, who had some tears forming by her eyes' corners. "So many books…" Madam Pince said while taking one hand to her mouth. "Here." Susan spoke, drawing the attention from Madam Pince to her, and picked the big red leather bound book from the little bookshelf under the lectern. She showed the front cover to Madam Pince, who could read on it, written in golden letters engraved into the red leather cover, 'Hogwarts' Library: Book of Records'. Susan then put the book on the lect

I take a breath quickly going over everything, trying to see if there was something I was missing or forgot to tell her. A vision of the library Althea took us down to where the mirror was hidden away, came to life behind my eyes. “The library-“ I whisper over the phone “Something about the library it just so…” “Can you describe it to me?” Lamia asks. “Huge, never-ending, old with rows upon rows of shelves full of old books. A fireplace with a stone hearth. Two leather wingback chairs and an antique table sat between them.” “Anything seem out of place?” Lamia’s tone held a waiver that was unlike her.

Instead, we were in the box? “Hold on, did you make us smaller or the box got bigger.” I asked for clarity. “A little bit of both. I made the box bigger and transported our bodies inside.” Impressive. The library wasn’t gigantic, like the one in my castle, but it was an impressionable size. The wooden shelves contained layers of no doubt thick books about spells, magic and potions. Dahlia was a voracious reader so it was no surprise that her library would contain so many books. There was even a wooden staircase that led to another section of the library.
