Good people, good conversations. It might help you… reset a little.” I raised an eyebrow. “You? In a book club?” She gasped dramatically. “Wow. That’s rude.” I smiled faintly. “It’s not. I’m just surprised.” “It’s not boring, I promise,” she said. “And you might like it. It’ll give you something new to focus on.”

Diana said. “Not at all,” Ruth said and took the glass from Diana and soon it was replaced by another one with pink lemonade. They toasted to a fruitful book club and sipped. Both Rayvin and Diana sniffed before drinking, but neither of them could smell anything suspicious, so they sipped. “Now, let’s get to know each other,” Ruth said. Later on , I am finally able to stock up the fridge and pantry . I fry scrambled eggs, bacon strips, and some baked beans for the men. After eating, we lounge in the living room, with Brandon and Noah arguing over their favorite superhero, and Gabe siding with Noah. I pretend not to notice Brandon’s eyes lingering on me when he thinks I am not paying attention. I grab my nonfiction book, The Werewolf Series, and start reading.
