I knew ‘the something’ that came up has something to do with the family business.
“Hey Henshel,” I said, a little surprised to see him coming out of our house.
“Ava,” he nodded, walking away.
I watched him go, crunching up my nose at the burnt smell I perceived. I hurried into the compound. Someone started a deliberate fire, and I was about to ignore it when something caught my eye.
There’s no way that could be my sketch book, I thought. However, my worst fear was confirmed when other servants emerged, carrying my box of new materials and dumping them in the fire.
