I said quickly, holding up a scroll I had grabbed from the hallway. He looked at me suspiciously but eventually stepped aside. Once inside, I let out a breath of relief. The library was massive, with rows and rows of shelves that seemed to stretch into forever. I felt small standing there, but I couldn’t let that stop me. I started searching, my fingers brushing over the spines of books as I looked for anything that might hold the answers I needed. My mother’s story echoed in my mind, giving me clues to follow. Finally, I found it—a book about old alliances and rivalries between packs. My heart raced as I flipped through the pages, scanning for anything that matched what Mama had told me.

It's been an hour since I arrived at De Sylvano mansion, but the king was still missing. Rearranging the books, I found a small brown book wedged behind them, but it didn’t have a title or seem to belong to the library. While putting the library books up, I took the unmarked book and opened the cover to see if something was inside to help me figure out where the book went. The cover had nothing, so I flipped the page and saw it was a journal. The handwriting looked familiar as if I had seen it before. Flipping the pages, I skimmed the contents and saw that it discussed microchips. It was also about changed wolves. I took the book to the loft to find out if it was related to the same thing I wanted to create.

I sighed, letting the book drop—but then a couple of sheets stuck out from some page in the book, and when I took it out, I fixed my eyes on the drawings, and certain familiar words. “Dale plant…wolfsbane…werewolf…spare…hunters,” I muttered these words, partially reading in my mind. My heart skipped a beat each second, as I grabbed the book off the floor, there were more stuffs in there… Just then, I heard the sound of a gun cocked behind me.
