He was here for me. When we finally settled down into our usual circle, Linda Lively's book was opened, I noticed the way Kael handled his copy. Like it was something worth respecting, worth holding carefully. It made me smile. “Kael,” April said suddenly, her grin mischievous, “why don’t you read for us?” I half expected him to decline. To smirk and shake his head like reading aloud was beneath him. But instead, he nodded. Took the book and cleared his throat.

Nick stares at me wide eyed, as we follow her. She takes us to a room in the back with books surrounding the walls and an old table that looks to be barely standing up. She tells Nick and I to sit at the table, and she walks over to the shelves of books. She picks up a big dusty green leather bond book and brings it over, gently placing it on the table. She opens the cover and then waves her hand over the pages. The pages go flying until it suddenly stops. I look over at Nick, I’ve never seen anything like this, even in the pack. So, I’m sure he’s shocked, and by the look on his face I’d say I was right.

The crystalline pyramids in the vertices shined for some seconds and shot beams of light to its neighbours, drawing with it the edges of the rectangular box that make the library room. In the system's monitor, a window appeared showing a progress bar, an elapsed time display, an estimated time left display and a counter of books scanned. The counter in the last one was growing by the second and could be read '154 books of 16248 books scanned'.

He grinned, showing me the album book he had pulled out from one of the shelves. I took the book excitedly, opening it. Almost immediately, a naked picture of fetus Shawn jumped at me. No, you don't understand. Like, an actual fetus picture of Shawn in the womb.

Alyssa exclaimed after seeing all the things on a particular page. "What Is it, Alyssa?" Asked Berk worried. "Don't worry Berk everything is going to be fine, let's go," replied Alyssa as she keeps the book on the floor. "Are we done?" Berk asked surprised. "Yes we are," Alyssa replied and they both left the room. As soon as they turned and left the room, the book closes back by itself, and the book cover reads; 'THE BOOK OF SHADOWS' and then the book disappears. . .

I nod and look around. “Where is the book?” I ask. She wasn’t carrying anything when she entered the room. “I always carry it with me, you just can’t see it,” Shanna explains. She mutters a couple of strange words, holds out her hand, and a book appears and falls onto it. The cover is fine leather engraved with a vine-like design that swirls around the edges of a large picture. The picture depicts a woman standing with her arms stretched up above her head. Above her, there are stars in the sky and I swear I see one twinkle. Shanna opens to the first page and I am stunned to see a spell.
