Its title glowed faintly: “The First-born Flame: Records of the One Who Watched the Moon.” He reached for it. But the moment his fingertips touched the leather, the runes around the library pulsed—and the book… vanished.

Though she knew something was wrong, her body surrendered and before she knew it, she was led into a night of bliss. The next morning, Amelia woke up with a terrible headache, her body ached with a strange sense of unease. The memory of last night was still foggy, but something gnawed at the back of her mind. She blinked her eyes open, taking in her surroundings. The tent was silent, the air still. But on the small table beside her bed, something caught her eye. A folded note. “Huh?” Amelia sat up slowly, her heart racing. She reached for the note with trembling hands, unfolding the crisp paper. The handwriting was elegant.

Nicole "You are not asleep?" "No," I whisper, glancing at the man who just entered the room. It's 1a.m, and I couldn't sleep because my mind is still chaotic. He nodded slowly and before he could say anything more, the bedroom door swung open. Erick and Jess stood at the doorway; they were both breathless, so we knew they were running. Jess held one of the thickest books I had ever seen; it was a large brown book with golden decals swirled throughout the cover. In the front of the book, in a silvery oval was a white infinity symbol I didn’t quite recognize and then written in white above the symbol read: Book of Magic. “Woah…” I breathed, staring at the book. It was real.

Alley POV: I can not get back to sleep. I looked at the alarm clock on my nightstand, 2:00AM ugh honestly? Stephen was snoring next to me and the last thing I wanted to do is wake him up. Quietly I slid out of bed and out the door. Closing it gently so that you couldn't even hear it latch, I made my way to the study. Since I can't sleep I guess I'll start trying to piece everything together. When I entered the study I looked around at the books that had been pulled from the library that were left out. The books had covered the desk, the leather couch and half of the floor. I huffed and sat down behind the desk in the big leather chair. I grabbed the first book my eyes met and read the title.

I screamed, and he gave it to me, fucking me until my body was nothing but sensation and sound. We didn’t stop. Not after once, not after twice. The night blurred into heat and sweat and endless moans, condoms piling on the bedside like trophies, and the bed creaking like crazy. When sleep finally claimed me, I thought: this is the best night of my life. I didn’t care that he was a stranger. Maybe it was better this way..no names, no shame, just pure release. …But the morning was cruel.

She found the room still sleeping, and the first thing she did was push the heavy curtains away from the window.
