She looked pampered and polished and expensive, like a trophy on display. "There's a book on the nightstand," Lena said quietly as the others began packing up their supplies. "The boss thought you might want something to read while you wait." I walked back to the bedroom on legs that felt like they belonged to someone else. The book was waiting for me on the nightstand, a novel I had never heard of with a cover that showed a woman standing at the edge of a cliff, looking out at a stormy sea. I picked it up and settled into the chair by the window, the silk of my dress rustling against the upholstery.

"What are you reading? Besides the textbook." The change in subject threw me. "Um, I just finished The Stand by Stephen King." His eyes lit up. "The Stand? That's over a thousand pages. You actually finished it?" "I've read it three times," I admitted. "Three times?" He looked genuinely impressed. "Most people won't even read it once because of the length." "The length is part of the appeal," I said, feeling slightly more confident talking about books. "You get to live in that world for longer, get to know the characters so deeply. It's like being part of something bigger than yourself."

The books were arranged like in the study room, from the floor to the ceiling – but this one was far more enormous than the latter. In the study room, there were built-in ladders on the side of each of the shelves to get the books she needed up to the ceiling. Unlike here, they were using wood ladders to get the needed books, most especially at the higher part of the shelf. It was better, though, because they could move it from one shelf to another. She loved to read, and she was really fascinated – it made her want to discover new things from the book itself. There were ten wooden rectangular tables placed in the center of the room – each had five wooden chairs with foam on it.

Luckily, it's a fiction book and the title seems quite interesting. I don't bother to take a look at the blurb before heading towards the reading table at the center of the library but as soon as I walk towards the reading furniture, my eyes quickly catch sight of something. My eyes widen and I hold my breath when I see King Cassius standing by a shelf on the other side of the library. He has a book and something which I think should be a scroll in his hand. He seems to be reading through both of them, his attention is totally focused on whatever he's reading and that's probably why he didn't hear me come into the library.

She was glancing around the room, trying to distract herself while she waited on her mom to catch up. The room she was in was a massive building with high ceilings. Thousands of 6 feel tall wooded shelves were standing upright and in rows and columns like a well-trained army. Each shelf held one giant ancient-looking book that was over 6ft tall. In front of each shelf was a small table that ran 6ft long and held 4 tables. Each table had a mechanism that could turn the pages of the book remotely from their seat, mages no longer had to get up from their seat or hire someone to turn pages for them.
