I nodded and walked away. I made good on my decision to bring the laptop stand to Alexa. I found the stand buried under a pile of old files. It was a sturdy, adjustable model—perfect for someone who needed to work from bed. I also grabbed a solid, slanting pillow that would help prop her head up without straining her neck. When I returned to Alexa’s ward, I found her trying to type on her laptop, the device perched precariously on her lap. She looked up as I approached, her eyes lighting up when she saw what I was carrying.

Abandoning the desk, I moved to the Shelves and looked through the books on them. The shelves housed not only business books but also some classic literature that I was certain Tom never read. He had probably only gotten them to make himself feel smart. I gritted my teeth in anger at the thought, picking a book to look through it. It was a good thing reading the book made one smarter rather than hoarding them, was it not? In another corner of the room, there was something like a coffee station. On a ledge of wood attached to both corners of the wall, there was an espresso machine.

I picked out a few books, checked the titles, and then dropped them back, they all smelled like old books. After much hesitation on what to read, I picked out a brown hard-covered book from the shelf, the title read "AN INEVITABLE END", and the font was written in a clean and neat write up which attracted me to it. It was so heavy, I had to get a sit, but before I could move away from the frame and go to the chair to check on it, a certain book fell off the stand and hit my leg hard, making me grimace in pain.

His large hand reached out to pick up the book on the top shelf. Not too difficult for him, because he is tall he can reach the book easily without having to bother to tiptoe. Stev pulled one corner of his lip upward as the man managed to bring the book into his grasp. A slightly worn brown hardback book with thick pages. It looks different from the others, but that is what makes the book attractive to the man's eyes.

Curiosity continuously gnaws at my heart. Pushing the door open, I gasped loudly at the books on different shelves. Surprisingly, it is an in-house library. What caught my attention the most was the large book with a strange cover and unreadable writings, sitting pretty on a book stand. It made me wonder why it was a standalone and not on the shelf like the others. Glancing back at the door, I felt the urge to back away, but I stayed back.

Alex stared at the book in front of him. This time around, he wasn't wearing any hoodie or clothing that could cover his face. He was just plain. His long shiny black hair was tied up into his favorite hair position - the ponytail. His sharp jawline could be seen clearly just fell a side view. In front of him were different books from different authors and at first, he looked like someone who didn't a get a thing that he was doing. He picked up the pen and got closer to the small table that was about his size - the sitting position and proceeded to read something.

It was a bargain. I’m setting up an area in the lounge space by one of the arched windows as my reading nook. Dad has bought me a large fluffy, pale pink bean bag for the corner and Atlas has given me vouchers for Button’s shops on the hight street where I have my eye on a beautiful mahogany, square table. There’s a matching bookcase I want to get for all my books. Only, I do have a lot of books so I may need to put a bookcase or some shelving up in the bedroom too.
