“You are the bride of a god.” Her breath caught. “Bride… of a god?” Her fingers tightened around the ring. “What bride?What God” She has never met any God let alone to consent to any marriage. Wait he couldn’t possibly mean his bride right? She gasped as it dawned on her she was referring to himself. So he is a God? Ivana stood there confused as several thoughts flooded her mind. “Yes, mortal.” His eyes bore into her. “And being bound to you…” His jaw clenched. “Only deepens my hatred for humans.”

It was not carved from stone or forged from metal, but built entirely from bones—the bones of fallen gods, some still shimmering faintly with a dying, tragic divine essence. ​Upon that throne lounged Malzareth. ​The High God looked almost disappointingly ordinary. He was a tall man draped in loose black robes, with long silver hair falling over broad shoulders. His calm, crimson eyes studied Kaelor with an unsettling, quiet amusement, and his smile was warm. But instead of old stories from my grandmother’s life, the pages were scrawled with strange symbols and sketches—shorthand in her handwriting explaining the purpose of different runes and sigils. Flipping through the pages, there were sketches of wolves, and the last page that she’d written in had a detailed rendition of a nightmarish wolf-beast that made my blood run cold at the sight of it, it’s eyes smudged over with charcoal in the shape of a protective rune. My heart raced when I realized what I was holding. This was no ordinary journal, it was a spell book.

I heard dad's voice, and he came into my view through the darkness. "I thought you were a ghost." I joked. "I was going through some old books. Found the exact one I was looking for," he said, handing me over a thick book that looked around a hundred years old. "What is this?" I asked. "It's a legendary, secret book about alphas who didn't approve of Moon Goddess's selection of mates and who fell in love with another," he spoke. My eyes shifted to his, and he quickly looked aside. Then he started adding more facts as he paced around; "Moon Goddess is the goddess we believe in. Humans might not even know her, but she's our goddess. She knows the best for us, and I don't think it's a good idea

AVA’S POV After the grand walk-in of those men in tailored suits with their leader, Vincenzo, who had me on chokehold, not because of his handsomeness, but because of the aura emitting from him, everything changed. It screamed danger so much that ice slashed down my spine at any given chance. And his soulless eyes? It was everything I wasn’t. Cold. Calm. Domineering. Dark and menacing. I almost melted under his scrutinizing gaze and the second he turned on his heels and disappeared down the hallway, I was finally able to breathe again.

I tilt my head in wonder. “Are you the god of the wolves?” That would be crazy. The wolves have a king, so having a god will be a little too much, right? He doesn’t answer and this fuels a hidden anger within me. My face turns in a deep scowl and I pull my arm away from his grasp and surprisingly, he releases me, letting me go free. Letting me run from him and I don’t look back. ** ** ** ***

I glared over at Mosi and stomped back towards the knobbly tree root I was sitting on. Turning my back on Mosi and Masi, as I sat on the knobbly tree root. I balled my fist, I winced as I put them with a little more force on my knees than intended. Looking back from where we came. I could hear the storm, it wasn’t so distant anymore. Thinking about what they told me, all three of them had powers. They were the embodiment of divine thoughts, divine words and divine deeds, and they are the guides to the purest of hearts. I gave this piece of information space to really sink in.

I have now come to the end of book one of my Cursed by the gods series. It has been a long journey I'm not gonna lie. I lost commitment along the way of writing this book, lost inspiration, even changed the plan I initially had for it. I am really glad that I got to finish it and if you stayed till the end I just want to say thank you for even choosing this book in the first place. I will start with the second book as soon as possible and do my best to make that one better.
