Catering with Love

Catering with Love

"We'll read through Chapter Five, which will introduce us to most of the major characters in the book, and discuss inital thoughts, feelings and maybe even start a little bracket on how you all think things will go. At the end of the book, the winner wil win some Little Women fandom items." Some of the guys snorted at that, although, looking around the room, I realized the class was at least seventy-five percent girls. Which could be because of the subject matter, and not the handsome teacher at the head of the class. I giggled at the thought, imagining how much I would have swooned over a teacher like John Blan as a young girl. Shoot, he made me swoon now, I couldn't even imagine what it wo

The Alpha King's Mistress

The Alpha King's Mistress

"You?" "The last book I read? Uhm…" I pondered for a moment. "‘Little Women.’ Found it in one of the boxes at the cabin.” He nodded, “That might have been one of Aunt Beth’s favorite books.” “Wait, the cabin was owned by your Aunt?” “Yeah, it was one of her places. She left it to me before she moved to Canada and passed away.” “Oh, I'm sorry.” “It's okay. It's been a while. She was a bookworm and had a hobby to left a box of her favorite books in every place she left”

he said, extending the book towards me. I took the book, my fingers brushing against the cover as I examined the title. "Little Women," I read aloud, a sense of familiarity washing over me. "Yes, it was Jacob's favorite book, and I think you will find it captivating too," he explained, his voice filled with warmth and nostalgia. "I'm sure I will," I replied, a soft smile playing on my lips, feeling a connection to Jacob through this shared love for literature. I ran my fingers along the cover, appreciating the weight of the book and the memories it held.

The League of Rogues

The League of Rogues

"I suppose no place in London is truly safe, which is why no woman should walk the streets alone, especially in the evening." Her gaze grew distant for a moment. "It is a mistake I will not make again." Then she looked down at her book. "Next question, my lord." Well, he'd tried. Perhaps a more circuitous route was required to win her trust. "What book are you reading?" He nodded at the tome she'd set aside. "Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations." "Truly?" He blinked at her. Most men he knew couldn't finish that book, and he'd never given much thought to whether a woman would read it. Not that he didn't think a woman could manage it, just that it was so bloody boring

Choked And Claimed By My Brother’s Best Friend

Choked And Claimed By My Brother’s Best Friend

The city turned on its fairy lights. I cleaned up, because order gave me back my spine. I wrote the red sticky note because words make everything feel less like a cliff. I left the box on his desk like a confession and tidied my corner to erase the place where I’d been. Then I locked up. On the subway, I watched my reflection wonder if I’d done anything right at all. At home, I put on Little Women. I have a soft spot for women who insist on their own minds. My phone buzzed. Where?

Surrogate For The Mafia Lord

Surrogate For The Mafia Lord

"And our neighborhood was safe. The librarian, Mrs. Patel, she kind of took me under her wing. She would recommend books and let me stay until closing time. I think she knew home was... difficult." "What did you read?" Armani asks, leaning forward with genuine interest. "Everything," I laugh. "Absolutely everything. At first it was children's books—*The Secret Garden*, *A Wrinkle in Time*, *The Chronicles of Narnia*. But I quickly moved on to whatever I could get my hands on. By ten, I was reading Jane Austen. By twelve, Dickens and Hugo. Mrs. Patel never tried to restrict me to the children's section." "Did your father know?"

I Stole The Billionaire's Heart

I Stole The Billionaire's Heart

I always wanted to have one. The books reached the top of the ceiling and there were ladders everywhere. I walked around the library, scanning the books. Some of them were old and some of them were new. There was also a desk in the corner of the room, stacked with books and book markers. I walked over to the desk and picked up the first book. A thousand Splendid Suns. I remembered when I was younger how I cried my heart out while reading this book. It's so well written and I couldn't get enough of it.

The Alpha's Secret Luna

The Alpha's Secret Luna

I threw myself back in the teal armchair, annoyed that I didn't discover anything. Then I see it. An old copy of Pride and Prejudice. But what strikes me is that this is not the only copy of this book I've spotted on her shelves. In the 11th grade, we were assigned the book for our English literature class. While I love to read, I do not like being told what I should or shouldn't read. I complained to my mother that there was no sense in reading 18th-century chick lit that has no place in today's world. My mother laughed at that and told me that it was one of her favorite books. She said it was the ultimate love story where both characters are forced to face their flaws and grow as people, t

It's always so refreshing reading a well written story!! Enzi is kind of a jerkface, but I really love how well all the characters developed, and I'd absolutely love to read other stories with these characters in it!

I am really loving this so far. I’ve read five of this authors books on another platforms and her books are always suck rollercoaster. You never quite know who’s hood or who’s bad and what each characters motivations are. She keeps you guessing.

Thirty Days Before Goodbye

Thirty Days Before Goodbye

The reviews began arriving on Thursday. Patricia Osei had told me to read them but not to organize my understanding of the book around them because the book had been written for the women in the long middle and the women in the long middle were not the reviewers. The reviewers were the first room the book passed through on its way to the people it was for. The first review I read was from a literary publication that described the book as unflinching and specific and written with the particular authority of someone who had lived inside the thing she was describing rather than observing it from outside.
