I paused to take a deep breath before entering the room, I truly hoped no one would be there because I didn't want to have to answer any questions. I pushed the doors open and entered. It was quiet and a bit dark, save for the small shadow of sunlight that peeped though the small window. It was extremely cold in here and I loved it. I sniffed the last bits of my tears away and proceeded to look for a book to read from the shelves. I hadn't gotten far when I saw the pride and prejudice book. I smiled, picking it up from where it rested on the shelf. I had read this book more than 5 times but I would never get tired of reading it all over again. I opened the first page with a grin.

Adea flipped it over to look at the spine, which showed the title, Pride and Prejudice. “Oh, no thank you,” Adea said with a kind smile as she handed the book back. “I don’t do much reading. My sister on the other hand-” She made a gesture toward Lyda, who was still flipping through the pages of one of the thickest books Adea had ever seen. “Ah!” the old woman exclaimed. “Fascinated by religious texts, my dear?”

Wooden crates repurposed as shelves lined one of the shorter walls, packed with books of all shapes and sizes, and Ashlyn couldn't help the gasp that passed her lips when she saw the worn copy of Pride and Prejudice that poked out from the center. I still didn't know where to put my arms and I held them locked against my body for a long while, until they started to get stiff. About half an hour into our journey, I grabbed my book that I put under my jacket earlier and opened the first page.
