AS LONG AS I'M BREATHING

AS LONG AS I'M BREATHING

I tried to control my emotions so Jesse McLean wouldn't see any concern for Selena. “That woman, almost died. Even though my men had shot her and broken her bones, she was still breathing. Even with short breaths because this warehouse is already on fire and emitting a lot of smoke in there. This is payback for that bastard captain for meddling in me and Bloods' business." I almost cheered softly because in fact Selena is still alive, although in critical condition. And no matter what, I have to save her from Jesse McLean's scheming. "Wait."

“That’s right, get reading.” I watched as she read the books, taking in all the information as she read. She looked like she was a nerd, a beautiful nerd. She reminded me of Belle and I was the Beast. She had a wrinkle in the middle of her forehead, creasing as she focused on the words she was reading. She was perfect, the perfect girl for me. everything I could ever want in my Queen. *present* I screamed out in pain as pain shot through my body, losing all connections with Skylar. She had left the city.

Death & Life

Death & Life

He glanced down at me and laughed. You sure are tiny for being Kaulu's son," he said and I shrugged saying I took after my mother and he nodded as he waved for me to follow him. We walked up a path through the dense foliage and came upon a hut. Ukupanipo paused and bowed his head. I could smell decaying flesh. "Are you sure I can revive her completely, because I am smelling something pretty rotten," I mumbled sourly and covered my nose. He glared at me and entered the hut. He walked back out and tossed me a small book.

Maddox started growling in my head and I could feel it starting to rumble in my own chest. “This is exactly what we saw right?” Ben looking for some confirmation that he wasn’t going crazy, for once. “Yeah, that’s it! Well shit. What does the book say about it? What is it for starters?” Ben shifted the book back in front of him and is scanning the pages. “We’re fucked. That’s what it says.” “What? Not possible.” I say taking the book from him and reading for myself. “How the hell is that even possible? I thought they were all killed in the first war?”

Great read! Especially for a new author. Interesting story that kept me engaged. Loved the slow introduction of characters that allowed me to get to know each one. However, if you are looking for steamy bedroom scenes, you will find this lacking.

Growling I sit up then hold the book "What's your problem, I know you're not fake so why are you hiding " " am not" The moment the book spoke I quickly let it go but it didn't fall off my hand, it remained in the air. " you..... just.... speak" stammer I crawl backward on the bed "How is a book speaking" " what do you expect lady, you have been making so much noise am forced to wake up "Two eyes open, a mouth shape forms then a nose, the book blinks then exhales loudly " It feels great to be awake again, I thought they are no more innocent women for me to eat "

Whisper of the Silent Death

Whisper of the Silent Death

Raia tried to look serious and avoid stuttering but his eyes can't look more real as he kept looking away from June. "Where did you get that book?" June asked him pertaining to the books he was holding. "H-huh? What do you mean? I borrowed this from the library," Raia replied then he held the books tighter. June slowly approached him while keeping his eyes on Raia. "That book...we saw it in Mr. Rayven's office..." June stated then stopped in front of Raia. "T-this is not... It's a different book," Raia can't stop stuttering while his eyes keep looking at random places. He didn’t notice that one of the books he was holding is already familiar to June. He didn’t even expect that June would eve

The Alpha and the Rental Luna

"Why am I still alive? I should be dead." Looking at the gaping hole in his chest, I couldn't argue with him. What is left of his heart is barely connected, and although it is still beating, it is sluggish, much of his blood pouring out onto the floor. It's like something out of a horror movie. How is he still breathing? More importantly, can he be healed?

Affair With My my Ex's Billionaire Father

Affair With My my Ex's Billionaire Father

It was the kind of tilt you don’t feel until everything inside you spills. I didn’t scream. Didn’t cry. Didn’t fall to the floor. I went very, very still. The kind of still that comes right before a wildfire breaks open. The candlelight kissed the page, making the ink shimmer like oil on water. I crushed it in my hand, paper crumpling like bone. I looked down at my baby. He was still there. Still breathing. Still mine. But someone had been close enough to touch him. Someone had entered this room.

Betrayed By The Alpha: A Rejected Mate's Vow Of Revenge

Panic surged through me, but I kept reading, my hands trembling over the pages. Another cough. More blood. My heart pounded. Then—silence. The book slipped from my grasp. His hand, which had been resting on my knee, went limp. “Zarek?” My voice cracked. No response. My chest tightened as I shook him. “Zarek, wake up.” Still nothing. “No, no, no,” I whispered, shaking him harder. His body was warm, but he wasn’t moving. His chest wasn’t rising. He wasn’t breathing.
