We walked through the lobby towards the bustling Manhattan streets. "Used to getting what I want, Miss Heather." He replied in a low voice, making my stomach flutter. I ignored his last words and shifted my gaze to the lanterns being set up in a corner. Oliver mentioned something about a festival in Manhattan. "Is there an event happening here?" I asked, pointing to the lanterns. He turned to look at me. "Halloween. Some blocks will be closed for half a day." "Oh." I nodded slightly while still looking at the lanterns. Some were shaped like pumpkins and bats. I had never seen a festival before, except for school festivals.

We spent an hour at the mall, going to stores like Charlotte Rousse or H&M, until we finally made it to the Halloween store. The store that had it open was vacant, making it easier for people to shop for costumes. It's only the second week of October, and many people are inside. Children are much more excited than I am when it comes to Halloween. Inside the Halloween store, I see it as Candyland. Everything isn't made out of candy but scary masks, make-up, and costumes.

Personally, Christmas is my favourite time of year. What I really love about Halloween, however, is the horror shows that comes on the television. Movies such as; Paranormal Activity, The Quiet Place and The Haunted Mansion and many more nail biting movies that grace the television on this time of year. There are other movies that are not scream worthy, but I love them too, like; Hocus Pocus and The Halloween Town series. Horror movies are my favourite kind of movies, so that's something I'll be looking forward to. "But it's going to be weird; dressing up and going trick or treating." I reasoned.
