"You'd be shocked at the bizarre things these creatures would ask you to do." "Hopefully, they don't interrupt my breakfast." I take a quick look at the book in his hands. "What are you reading?" "Greek mythology," he replies, setting it down. "Figured it was fitting." I smile. "Good choice." The waiter returns then, setting down a plate in front of me. I glance at the assortment of food—something golden and flaky, a thick swirl of white yogurt drizzled with honey, dark purple olives, and what looks like grilled cheese.

With a renewed sense of hope, I decided to distract myself until the evening by immersing myself in a book. Reaching for a book on my shelf, a worn-out copy of "Mythology of the Supernatural," I felt a sense of comfort. I had always been fascinated by tales of werewolves and vampires as a child, finding solace in the fantastical worlds they inhabited. Maybe that's why the heavens decided to place me in their midst. I had never thought them to be real. As I flipped through the pages, my mind wandered, imagining myself in the midst of these mythical creatures, too bad I was pretty much me as a human.

Rhae slowly walked towards the bookshelf off to the side of the room and began skimming the titles. "Tales of Fae," Aynyra grinned, crossing her legs in the bed like a toddler. Rhae pulled the book off the shelf, examining the repeatedly broken spine and the clear wear and tear on the cloth-covered binding. "A children's book?" Rhae questioned peering at the title. Aynyra chuckled, "It's not a children's book, it's based on history. It's fact." Rhae walked over to the bed laughing, "It's myth Aynyra, don't tell me you believe in the Fae."

Alexis is happy to see someone in the house who's smiling. "I'm Ares – the fifth son. Are you interested with Greek Mythology?" He asked. "I know some but I don't know most of it." Alexis answered. "Aw... But that's fine. If you want to know more, just ask me then I'll tell you everything about it." He stated then Alexis nodded. "Sure." She answered. "If you need books about it, you can ask me then I'll give you books about it." Ares added.

My fingers scanned the faded spines until they stopped on a worn, hardcover copy of Greek Mythology. I took the book and retreated to a single desk beneath the window, as far away from Vera's circle as possible. Opening the heavy cover, I tried to lose myself in the text, tracing the printed lines about ancient gods and trials. Reading always used to ground me, but today, the letters seemed to blur together on the page. A sudden, violent smack rattled my desk. Vera’s palm was flat against my open book, pinning the pages down. I froze for a beat, watching her knuckles turn white, before slowly raising my eyes to meet her glare.

Alessia's POV I have read the book. It was a typical old storybook that sounded very English and Greek. I cringe a little because what I'm reading sounds like Julius Caesar. It talks about Greek gods, especially Poseidon since Homer's journey travels the seas. I feel like I'm getting a headache reading it because it's a story but the writing is poetic. But I understand because the ancient people were poets. I am too used to reading normal English novels. I just focused my attention on the book because there was nothing else to read there besides this. Even though I'm not used to reading like this, I'm just patient because it makes me sleepy.

Cordelia had listened in whenever she could, and little by little learned more than her cousin did. Flopping down onto her small bed, Cordelia revelled in a moment of relaxation. 'I bet there are thousands of mythological books' I thought, I looked around as much as I could while Hades carried me. ''You love books, don't you?'' He commented as he weaved his way through shelf after shelf of books, following Lachesis. ''No, just mythological books,'' I replied ''The underworld is the source of all mythological books and stories.'' Hades huffed. ''Are you not serious?'' I asked in disbelief. ''Do you know the myth of Cerberus?'' He asked. ''Of course. He's the Greek hellhound. It's one of the most famous myths'' I replied.
