Towel drying my hair, I walked back to the room with my bed. My eyes took in all the books that sat on the wooden bookcase. I let my fingers trail over the gold embossed letters on the spines. It was an impressive collection. ‘History of our past’, ‘Healing’, ‘Medicinal herbs’, ‘Charms and spells’ I walked to the window and peeked outside. The sun was already going down, painting the town in a pink hue. There were houses mixed in with shops but the roads were quiet. It seemed tranquil.

I pressed my fingers on the floor, supporting myself to get up. In seconds, I was up. I looked around, and there was only one way to leave here. The window. I chuckled. A sad sound. Because there was no way I would fit in through the window. Unless… My eyes looked around… The baseball bat. I rushed to it. Picking it up, the bat connected with the glass. Shattering it. Then I moved away from the window, and turned to look at the books which all looked amusing. I reached out to the bottom of the shelf and removed a book from it. Then I dusted it off, and sneezed as the dust got into my nostrils. These books must have been here for a long time, and that means it’s all about history. Hmm! Things are about to get interesting. “Story of the Rainbow?” I scoffed and bit my lips, then opened the book. I flipped through the pages, awed by the writings and the pictures which were inside.

They are silent reminders of the past that if only she had the power, she would have written differently. She looks outside the window. The surrounding is bright and quiet. Everything has been taken care of. It should be a great day.

Rose The sun shone in through the open window as a gentle breeze tickled my nose, wafting the comforting scent of my old books around my room. It eased my internal pain and I felt everything was going to be just okay. The window that had bore witness to my bleak and sad life also bore my happiest moments.

I lifted the torch that was in my hand to give light on my way because this part of the building has no windows in it and had no sunlight for natural lighting. When I saw the door, I immediately opened it and was welcomed by a large room with books arranged on the shelves properly. The one and only window that was large enough to give light to everything in the room was covered with thick and heavy clusters of curtain. I put the torch on the stand by the door and walked towards the large window. I used the movable stair for the books to go and reach the curtain and shove it on the side. I closed my eyes when a ray of sunlight suddenly hit me in the eye, I just smiled. After that, I returned

I checked left and right to make sure no one was around before jumping in through the window. It seemed to be a study. There were bookshelves filled with all kinds of books on three sides. Opposite the window was a desk with a book lying flat on it. There were some photos scattered beside it. I walked forward to investigate. All kinds of corpses came into view. There were wolves and humans. The extremely bloody scene made my stomach rise uncontrollably. I couldn't help but turn my head and retch for a while. What was going on with these photos?
