Athen POV. I dashed towards the open window, feeling a chill run through my veins as the cold breeze rushed in and caused the pages of the forbidden tome to flutter restlessly. The room was dimly lit, but the pale light of the moon seemed to shimmer with a strange allure as I picked up the book with trembling hands. The Forbidden Knowledge. For weeks I had been yearning to unlock its secrets, to delve deep into its pages and uncover the truths that lay hidden within.

I went to take a shower after dinner. It was then that I suddenly saw a weird palm print on the glass window. Someone must have left that palm print behind with their soapy hand while taking a shower. The print was quite faint and white against the shiny glass on the window. It was obviously a woman's handprint, and it wasn't mine. My hand was a little bigger than this. So I couldn't have been the one who put it there. It couldn't have been my daughter, Bella Quinton, either. She had tiny hands and wasn't even tall enough to reach that spot yet. Also, it definitely did not belong to my husband, Rory Quinton.

“Sometimes I sit by that window and lose track of time.” She pointed toward the far side of the room where a wide window sat with a cushioned bench underneath it. Moonlight spilled through the glass, painting soft silver lines across the floor. I stepped forward slowly, drawn in like the room was pulling me with invisible strings. My fingers reached out and lightly brushed the spines of the books on the nearest shelf. The texture of the worn leather, the bump of gold lettering under my fingertips—it all felt real and old and full of stories I hadn’t heard yet.

Lilith sat cross-legged on her bed, engrossed in the pages of a captivating book. Her face was buried within its depths as she lost herself in the world of words. The room was quiet, save for the rustling of pages and the occasional sound of her breath. Suddenly, a gust of wind whistled through the room, causing the curtains to billow and dance. Lith looked up, her eyes widening in surprise, as the window that had always been locked swung open with a creak. The wind seemed to beckon her, inviting her to embrace the unknown that lay beyond.

When daddy finds out he's going to skin him. I rolled back onto my side and looked out the window at the tops of the trees in the distance. I didn't know that our windows aren't really windows until today. I could see through other people's windows with the drone, but when I buzzed our house earlier, all I saw was the reflection of the light outside. Daddy had surrounded the whole house with one-way glass.

Selina's POV Windows have always been my favorite kind of lie. From this third-floor landing I could watch the pack without being part of it—pretend I was one of them, just another pair of eyes behind glass, without all the responsibility and history rotting inside my stomach. This morning was especially perfect for it: sun-baked snow sloshed in drifts against the battered siding, and the path to the common hall was churned to mud by wolf and human feet alike. The air was so cold it turned everything sharper, even my own thoughts.

The first true winter storm arrived with a roar, hurling rain against the windows and turning the Tidewater Trail into a wind-lashed no-man's land. Inside, the world felt small, safe, and deeply ours. A fire crackled in the hearth, Hank's painting glowed in its light, and Eleanor's paperweight sat solidly on the desk, holding down the first batch of congratulatory cards for my book.

I paused my eating and crouched as my eyes turned to the window. Small murmurs and laughter echoes from outside as large shadows passes by. I turned my gaze to an open window before bringing it to the slowly approaching figures. I muttered a cuss under my breath as I quickly left the table and ran to the window. Carefully, I crawled out the small space, careful to not let any of the broken glass cut me, and landed softly on the grass outside just as the wolves pushed the door open.

Cassandra sat quietly by the window of the small coffee shop, the scent of roasted beans mingling with the crisp pages of the book in her hands. Outside, spring was in full bloom—leaves shimmered in the sunlight, and the occasional breeze stirred the ivy growing up the side of the building. Her book, a worn paperback about native plant life and ecosystems, was one she had read before, but she always returned to it like an old friend.

I didn't know what it was but the way the person was reading the book seemed important. Suddenly the woman looked at me but she was not actually looking at me.She was looking through me at what was behind me.Her face was blurry. I looked over my shoulder and saw the door of the room was open. The woman walked through me. I looked down at myself then back at the door . The woman was not there anymore. I went out of the room. Outside there was a vese shattered on the floor and the stool was laying on the floor. No one was there on that floor.
