Novel & Cerita Books Stephen King Recommends

“Damien wouldn’t do that!” “You call your stepfather by his name. Interesting.” He was doing it again, giving her those looks that suggested he knew far more than she did. She felt as if she were stark naked in front of him, to be observed and studied. “Now that I think about it, your relationship seems a whole lot better than I was made to believe. Aaron wouldn’t shut up about how shitty your relationship with the bloodsucker is—a pity story, if you ask me.”

She seemed keen on the idea that a little walk would help Lauren feel better, but Lauren didn’t think her mom would agree to a long hike. Up until a couple of years ago (when she discovered Ray Bradbury and Stephen King), Lauren had loved reading the Trixie Belden mysteries and at the moment she felt a lot like Trixie, off investigating a crime. Don’t have my beautiful best friend Honey with me, though.

Kyliena. It was an early morning on a freezing October morning, Halloween was just around the corner. I had woken up to the gentle pitter patters of the rain on the roof of the place I now called home. I had swiftly gotten myself up and bathed then dressed before taking a seat at the windowsill. I opened my favorite book of all time, The Princess Bride by William Goldman. I just love his work…even though I’ve never experienced love like that. My ex boyfriend Blake has an ego too large to let himself be completely consumed with loving someone other than himself.

It always paid off to be prepared for anything. “And you do know that was completely unnecessary right? I’m not attracted to him in the least.” Besides, I preferred my partners to be awake and willing. Somnophilia was not my kink. Lucius’s stare was flinty. The possessiveness in his eyes was dark and uncompromising. “What will drinking do? Does he need to take it?” I rolled my eyes at his ridiculousness. “He needs to drink this. It will shock his system into waking up, like a forced reboot.”

“I found this book outside. It has all the answers.” I furrow my eyebrows together. “What are you talking about, Alex?” His attention turns back to the weathered book in his hands. He flips through the pages until he finds the one he’s looking for. “Look at this.” He hands the book to me. I scan the words, latching onto the ones at the very top. How To Kill A Vampire. Suspicion descends over me. “Alex, are you sure this is even real? It sounds a little made-up.”

she got up to introduce me to the stranger as I walked up to them, “Imani. She's a student in your school.” I put on my best smile as I turned to the visitor, but my smile froze immediately when I saw who the visitor was. I was hallucinating. I have to be. But I wasn't. “Imani Cole,” he rose to his feet, too. I believe we already have the pleasure of meeting. She's one of my students. I lectured in her class earlier today.” “Ohh, what a small world.” Mom beamed, “I bet you didn't know she's your step-niece. Imani,” she turned to me, even though I was hollowed out and blanked out, “he's Stephan King, Declan’s brother.”

“Yeah… Animorphs and Goosebumps in elementary school do not a reader make.” “Hey, those are quality pieces of literature!” I declare. “Says who?” “Says me!” I huff, crossing my arms. “And I’ve read other books too! I like Stephen King and Michael Crichton and Neil Gaiman and—“ “Okay, okay,” he surrenders, lifting his hands and cutting me off. “Seriously, though, why are you going to the library?” “I’m going to do some research.” “For what?” “New training methods. Double checking some of the warrior laws for the kingdom.”

I smiled. "Thank you Aiden." I turned and he looked at the book before handing it to me. "Stephen King?" He asked smiling. I shrugged. "My father introduced me to his books when I was younger. I've been a fan since." He looked at me amused. "Which one was your first?" Wait did he read? "Through the eyes of the dragon. My grandmother gave it to me when I was thirteen." He smiled again.

Not like I need his praise to feel like a big shot. Who cares if he thinks it’s cool that I enjoyed them? “What’s your favorite?” He prods further. I remain silent, not knowing if continuing this conversation is necessary, not wanting myself to relax while in the lion’s den. Still, I feel compelled to either way. “I’m into the classics, actually. The Exorcist and Nightmare On Elm Street.” He sucks in his breath, shaking his head slowly in disapproval, and I raise a brow. What self-proclaimed fan of horror doesn’t have those two in their top 10?

“I mean you as a homebody, not as my boss or anything like that.” It might be an exaggeration to say that Ingrid felt that day was very serene. She was a homebody herself when it came to it, always staying home when she didn’t have work, but it was a different feeling when she was with a man, and they were just relaxing. And his house... God, it felt like home already. “What kind of books do you read?” she asked interestedly. “Stephen King, Dan Brown, Clive Cussler, John Grisham, and the like.”
