The second thing Alex noticed was the guns. They were everywhere. Not in the way they'd been before, when the house was a fortress and every corner held a man waiting for something to happen. The place had the most minimal décor, a single sofa, a coffee table and a TV on the wall. Wooden floorboards and cream colored paint. There weren’t any decoratives on the wall, giving the place a rather cold and impersonal feel. I had looked at it hundreds of times before, but this time I actually paid attention to what was on it. The shelves were not filled with old novels.
