In the other drawer, are my firearms, the ones on the smaller side that is. I made my way towards the humongous walk-in closet and over to the big drawers, I left empty before placing my bigger guns in. They were all in their cases, my snipers, rifles, machine guns, then the rest. I put my bazooka in its own drawer away from the other bazookas. This one was special. I had it customized so that it had diamond embeddings on it.

I told them to calm down. “Easy,” I said to them. “It’s okay. Stay.” I went to open the steel door as I waved the dogs inside. The four of them ran in whining as I slammed the door shut with a lock. I needed then safe. Then I opened the panel in the wall that hid my guns. The room was not a trophy case; it was a toolbox for war. Racks of rifles lined the space, magazines stacked neat, grenade launchers, and a Barrett .50 cal on a shelf. I slid a magazine into a modified M4, fixed the grenades to my belt, and then took the sword down from its place.

It wasn’t as clean as the rest. It was slightly rough, almost chipped. My eyes drifted lower and landed on a small knife lying neatly beside the shoe rack. Weird. I picked it up and slid the blade carefully into that uneven corner. It made a mechanical sound and my heart jumped. I silently made my way towards the lounge area. The study was silent. It smelled like old books and his cologne, which probably lingered here from how long he worked in the space. It took them awhile, but they managed to go through everything and pack up the useless stuff. Angel was in the office going through the desk while two of staff members were packing up the books inside when one of them went to grab another book and the whole shelf moved.
