Booktok Masks Novels & Stories

We talked and laughed, sharing stories and getting to know each other better. Just as we were in the middle of our conversation, the door creaked open, and a tall, dark-skinned man walked in. My head instinctively turned to greet him. Just as I raised my face to greet him, I felt a jolt of recognition run through me. It was the same guy from the masked party! I couldn't believe it; I had unmasked him in the washroom while we were kissing. I didn't know I'd remember his face ever again.

Brett said before he smiled and winked at the girls from afar. Adam snorted. He’s ashamed to see Brett flirting around female humans as soon as he got discharged from hospital. ‘I guess he is indeed feeling okay,’ Adam concluded. “Stop flirting with anyone. It will get us more attention,” Adam commented. “Speaking of attention,” Brett murmured, as he put down his glass and stared at Adam from head to toe. “Why are you wearing a Bauta mask?” A bauta mask is mask the cover the full face. It hot square-ish jaw, large chin and no mouth.

The mask was almost transparent, only that there was some sort of black luminescence about it, that increased its beauty and of course mystery. “You want me to wear the mask to school everyday?” I couldn’t help but ask, as I finally got the trousers to my waist and buckled it straight. Next on the list. The crop top. Should probably knock off the belly effect with a jacket. “Well, you will almost not feel its presence. I made it specially for you. It’s made of magic.” I furrowed my eyebrows, then knowing that she wouldn’t see my expression since my face was surrounded by the crop top, which was trying to pass through my head to my upper body, I decided to speak out.

I turn to the sales attendant, a hint of urgency in my voice. “Do you know if there are any shops around here where I could find a mask?” I ask, my eyes searching hers. She smirks, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “Actually, we have a selection of masks right here in the store. I’ll be right back with some options for you.” I watch her disappear into a back room, my heart still fluttering from the thrill of finding the perfect dress. Moments later, she returns with a tray of masks, each one more intricate and stunning than the last.

"Masks on?" The masks went on—child-sized face masks that Dante had told the parents were for "air quality and seasonal allergies," which was technically true even if the primary purpose was disguising Rhysand's face. The other kids thought it was fun, like they were secret agents or superhero sidekicks. "Perfect," Dante said, starting to walk while keeping the central rope controlled. "Now, who wants to tell me about their day? What was the most interesting thing that happened?"

After that, the five of them unhappily moved to the rest area. Alvin, Jason, and Cassandra sat together as they sipped their wine. Meanwhile, Sebastian sat with Rosalie on the other end. Cassandra was scrolling through her phone when she suddenly remembered something and exclaimed, "Oh, right Mr. Janssen. Your family business has to do with cosmetics right?" "Have you heard of this viral face mask? The Artic Snow Mask?" she asked. "I heard that it's incredibly effective and a lot of my friends have recommended it to me!"

I asked, and he turned to glance briefly at me. “That won’t be a problem. We can just become like him,” he muttered, and I frowned, not sure what he meant. The door snapped open, and Lian walked in, carrying a heavy carton pressed against his chest. Everyone turned as he entered and dropped the box on the floor with a dull thud. He opened it and it was filled with numerous silicone masks. What the fuck! “Are we going to wear a silicone mask too?” someone asked, and I didn’t even bother to look up. I bent down and reached for one of the masks. It looked just like real human skin—so freakishly realistic it made my stomach twist.

Toby gritted his teeth as a glare slowly began to form in his face. "You are Busted." ~ ♡ ~ The air outside was cool, like most of Boston's climate. The chilly air hit my body as I looked to my right. Toby was just looking at me blankly as he held the bruised jaw with a napkin. "What's the catch?" He asked. "Anything you want." I said. The words really had been hard for me to say because I never imagined I would be in a position where I'd be practically bribing a guy to hide my secret.

He told her and noticed how she was still staring at that Skull Emblem of that mask. “It’s my favorite mask, there are only five masks which was made for five of us, it will protect you when you go out of the packhouse, you know, you are unmated with alpha and he has not marked you, so there are chances they will think of you as the rogue but they will know you are one of us because now you have this mask.” He described to her and she nodded and put on the mask on her face and now only her eyes could be noticed.

Without a word, he filled the two teacups, stretching the other to Andre. "What's in the tea?" Andre asked, holding his hand on a suspended level. "It didn't kill you the first time, you think it will now?" Macklemore teased. "I mean, is it like a truth syrup or some kind of therapeutic stuff?" Andre finally has a sip. "The tea is to help you relax, other than that, it does nothing else. Everything you see when you enter your subconscious is a manifestation of the residual files in your brain, just as our mobile applications contain residual files and cached all piled in the junk folder."
