The ache in my heart turns to butterflies in my belly. There’s a rickety stool outside the den with a book sitting on it, a paperback that’s gotten soaked and dried at least once, opened like a fan. A bookmark made of braided grass is tucked between the pages. He reads? What is he reading? My wolf can’t read. All she can do to satisfy my curiosity is sniff the pages. They smell like they’ve been dew-dampened and baked in the sunshine many, many times. She bumps it off the chair with her enthusiasm, and Justus rescues it from the ground.

“For you.” I could hardly believe it. Flipping through the composition book, I could make out pages upon pages filled with neat handwriting, what looked like ten chapters worth of reading, and even… a couple of smutty scenes. My cheeks warmed as I flipped to a random page and read something about the dragon turning into a man, and…

I'm sure they're supposed to be words, but they're peculiarly stacked together in such a way that only the writer can decipher them. I flip the pages, which I'm surprised are empty at all, given how used the book feels and looks. Closing the book, I open it again to a random page. But there's nothing random about this page. She moved into the shelves and I followed and we went slowly through the fiction section where she pulled things out and read the first pages with the efficiency of someone who knew within a paragraph whether a book was for her. She found three. I found one. At the counter she looked at mine. "You've read that," she said. "I want to read it again." "You reread things." "Occasionally. When something's worth it." "What's worth it about this one." "The structure," I said. "First time you read for what happens. Second time you read for how it was built." She looked at the cover. "Can I read it first," she said. "You have three."

my wolf grimaces uncomfortably. “You’re not wrong on that one,” I shudder, quickly flipping the page over. The further I delve into the book, the further deteriorations I can see to its neglected condition. I can’t help but notice the thread holding the book together has begun to fray, struggling to contain the historical accounts listed inside. Its layout subtly begins to shift the more I push on, gradually altering with each entry included allowing me to differentiate between the multiple rulers listed inside.

Joy smiled, as she finished her brief summary of the book. "Wow. I am speechless. What later happened? Did he give in or disciplined himself?" Kevin and Rachael simply looked on as the two were speaking. "It is left for you to find out. The title of the book is WEIRD FEELING BY PROF ISRAEL.
