I dragged a hand over my face, sighing. Boredom. That’s what it was. Heavy, dull boredom mixed with exhaustion, pressing down on me until I couldn’t tell if I wanted to sleep or scream. I scrolled through my phone for a while, flicking between apps without caring about any of them. A few people had sent me DMs from my livestream earlier, comments about my last post, offers I wasn’t in the mood to answer. I scrolled past all of it. Nothing stuck. Nothing mattered.

By the time we’re done, I lean back in my chair, completely satisfied, and happy. So… unbelievably happy. I glance at him and I see that he’s already looking at me. My lips curve slowly. “I'm bored,” I blurt out. “Really?” He asks in a very surprised tone, like being bored is a crime. And I immediately get it. He might think I'm bored of him or his company. “I mean, I'm itching to do something fun,” I quickly say. “Hmmm,” he murmurs. “Something like what??”

Somewhere outside, a car horn blared. Sunday. My only day off. I thought about the hundred-dollar bill tucked inside my bag. Thought about my empty fridge. Thought about the coming week, the aching muscles, the humiliations I would pretend didn’t hurt. I picked up the phone again. Four p.m. That gave me time to think. Too much time. I closed my eyes, my heart pounding. … … … .. I was bored. The kind of boredom that makes your thoughts turn ugly. The kind that presses on your chest and won’t let you rest. I kept looking at the time, counting backward from four p.m., my phone heavy in my hand.

I like a challenge. The fridge was stocked with everything I could need to make my own meals, which means at least my host wasn’t making me starve. Although with no electrical devices to play with, as my laptop and phones were seized that nagging feeling that presses on my neuro nerves spikes as it starts creeping, I suddenly felt restless, uncomfortable and bored. Me with boredom? We are not besties… Not even acquaintances! Boredom is not just a challenge. Boredom is a disease.

Amira's POV I'm losing my mind and I am so bored. There's still one more week to go back to school and I am so freaking eager to go back. I had enough of this boredom. But lectures are boring as well. Urgg! What am I gonna do? I grab my phone beside me and play YouTube. I tried to search some funny tiktoks but I end up getting tried. I stood up to make some good food but I end up cooking eggs.

The rain hammered against the windows, a relentless rhythm that echoed the restless energy of a three-year-old boy trapped indoors. Theo, his usual boundless energy now bottled up, paced the living room, his brow furrowed in frustration. "Mama Hazel, I'm bored!" he declared, his voice tinged with a hint of despair. Things are actually quite boring now that there’s no one lounging in the living room, drinking wine and laughing over old days. I sigh into the glass of wine in my hand and sigh again audibly. I am so dang bored, I have, while sitting here after dinner, watched Raees, another new movie, got disgusting into the first ten minutes and just shut it off, choosing to browse on my phone and go through social media, something I never do, and see what’s going on in other people’s lives.

SIGRUN Seven Days Later... I was bored out of my mind, and it wasn't the normal kind of bored. Not even a "there's nothing good on Net.flix" bored. I'm talking trapped-in-a-massive-mountain-fortress-without-WiFi-and-my-werewolf-husband-had-disappeared-into-the-northern-wilderness-a-week-ago-without-informing-me bored. There was a difference. A very important difference. For one thing, normal boredom usually didn't involve several hundred thousand square feet of gothic architecture.

BELLA I was painfully bored. With a lazy expression, I flipped through the endless sea of channels on the TV, barely paying attention to anything that popped up on the screen. Sprawled out on my bean bag like a starfish, I sighed hoping anything interesting would capture my attention. She felt tortured every second of the day. Yawning, she scanned the time and realized that not even half an hour had passed. Rose felt sleepy as hell. It was then that she remembered the TV series "Bored to Death". Perhaps one could be bored to death! What a bore… After sitting for less than a morning, her body already felt sore all over. How was she going to get through the rest of the day? What a misery! After getting up and stretching, Rose took out the cup she carried with her as she slipped away to the pantry.
