Borrowing A Book From Library Novels & Stories

Tell me about it. "I haven't seen this book before and it doesn't even have any publishing notice or the author's name. Where did you get this from?" "Um. The university." She furrowed her eyebrows. "The town university buys the book from our library itself. We usually have several copies with us but I haven't seen it before." "Maybe you don't remember. I mean, no offense but the library has millions of books in it." The woman glared at me with her crinkly grooved eyes.

“The last time you took a book home, it took your three weeks to return it.” I remind Isaiah, the library user who stands facing me, holding the Harry Potter book in his hand. He picks up the pen on my desk and signs on the permission booklet I push towards him. “The keyword remains ‘returned it’.” the smug answer matches his face and I roll my eyes. “Well, I’ll need more than your word. I’ll need your library card.” I stretch my hand out to him.

On my way home, I stop by the Lending Library. Our neighborhood has been blessed with a wonderful treasure, the Lending Library. It's the most sacred of treasures for a reader like me. The idea is, I read a book, and when I'm finished, I return it to the Lending Library for someone else to read. The Lending Library is a large bookshelf that stands on a post. It resembles a mailbox.

“Do you know where the library is? We planned to visit it later. Can we also take home the books?” “Yeah, I know where it is. And no, you can’t take home the books. But if you want, there’s a public library where you can check out some books. You have to purchase a library card first, and then they’ll loan you the book for a certain period. If you don’t return it during the said time, you will have to pay for it.” “Ohh! Where is that public library?” Leilani, the ever so bubbly and sociable girl that she is, walked on Luster’s right side. Her eyes were sparkling in excitement.

I pay half of my tuition every month and every time the registrar asks me not to pay it anymore since I’m the CEO’s girlfriend, I always ask them not to tell Lucifer about it because he will surely get mad at me for doing it. “I will borrow all these books.” The woman said, wearing a thick spec.. “Okay, just write your name here and let me borrow your library card for a while.” This library is quite bigger than the Chasung High library, it has taller shelves and larger space making it somewhat hard for me to sort all of the books. I don’t want Lucifer to know that I’m working as a library here because I’m sure that if he ever knew about this, he would probably make me stop. I don’t want to b

"That is what they are for, Jennifer. To read them is not merely allowed but actively encouraged." "Can I take some of them to the farm to read? Will anyone mind?" The old man frowns. "To borrow the books, you have them stamped to your ticket, but you may borrow as many as you wish. Simply bring them back when you are finished and then you can take some others." He hesitates. "Jennifer, have you never seen a library before?" Her eyes are alive and a smile dances across her face. "We had one in my old school, but it wasn't like this...."

"Yes. The record book is a book that automatically records all the borrowed books with the student's name and date. Lucky us that it too has a Hogwarts' Library Stamp on it." Susan explained. Madam Pince still had wide eyes and seemed frozen. All these years, she had been manually taking notes of all borrowed books from the library. But she was just human, and surely some students managed to take books without her noting it. At least most of them were brought back. Susan then snapped her fingers in front of the woman's face to wake her up from her daydreams. It worked. Madam Pince looked at Susan, as if asking 'what?'.

Even at school, I don’t stop reviewing this week so sometimes I don’t get along with Marie, Angelica and Ana when they hang out because I still need to review. “You’re not coming with us again, Isabelle Arcadia?” Angelica asked me. We are currently in the library. It’s already the end of class today but I have a book I need here at the library. I can’t take it home because I didn’t bring my library card. The librarian did not accept my I.D. in order to take home the book he needed, she said it was a library card that she needed. I looked at the three. “Sorry, I need to review.”

The librarian was an old woman with glasses and a friendly smile. “ Hi, I would like to borrow these books” said Marissa. “ Do you have a library pass?” asked the woman. Marissa mentally facedpalmed herself. Of course she will be asked to produce her library card. “ Excuse me” said Marissa as she turned and left. Marissa sighed as she realised her attempt to hide the books from them have proven futile. She went to meet Oliver and Frank. “The librarian said I need a library card” she said to them.

If he'd wanted to steal the book, he'd have simply taken it from the table and hauled ass before I got back from the bathroom. But he could also just wait for me to return the book and then borrow it. But maybe he didn't have a library card? I sighed in acceptance, “Okay then. Three days. I'll be here.” “Thanks man. I'll leave you to it.” He patted me on the shoulder and walked to sit at another table. He flicked the book open and began to read. It was getting late and I needed to make a decision. Penthouse or Cafe. End of the month was still two weeks away. It wouldn't hurt to work for one more week.
