Borrowed Books Novels & Stories

Somehow, I felt Mom wouldn’t be thrilled by the news. "I’d like to rest for a bit now, but tell me… could you do me a favor? Before the accident, I borrowed several books from the library, and they were due back a few days ago. I’ve already finished them, and something new wouldn’t hurt. Your father doesn’t have time for that — he neglected these responsibilities for too long." "You want me to go?" "If you don’t mind." How could I mind when someone I loved was asking? I picked up the books, knowing I’d have to pay a small fine. It was a shame the library didn’t take into account situations when a reader couldn’t return books due to health issues.

“Yes, sir!” “Ok, here are the rules. Each of the books here can be borrowed with points. You can read the introduction before borrowing them. You need to register with me first if you only wish to browse. If you really wish to study, you’ll have to go into the Enlightenment Room for two hours, of which you’ll need points to access that as well. Prohibition has been put on the books so don’t even think about forcing your way through them. Remember, you have a time limit of two hours. You’ll need to pay with more points if you want to extend the time.”

And luckily, both didn't question much and did it for Roy anyway. "Here young man." The Store Keeper pointed at a row in the log. "Write your name, address, phone number and the date you wish to return. You can borrow the book for a maximum of fifteen days. If it's not enough, then come by and extend it." Roy glanced at Jeremy for a second and found him leaning on the counter with his always smiley face. Once again, Roy's heart skipped irregularly and a burst of warmth crept up on his face.

Later on, I discovered that I could simply borrow books from the library, either the State library or the school's library, if I wanted to read something in particular. My free time was limited due to the fact that I was attempting to juggle a plethora of tasks at the same time. However, I made time to read the book that I wanted to read, whether it was in the Subway or when I returned to my dorm room after a long day at work.

Here's your passage with a smoother flow, sharper wit, and a bit more punch: My phone rang for the third time, Tara again. "Penny, I know you're in a meeting, but—" she started, her voice edged with nerves. I pressed the elevator button, silently praying the call wouldn't drop. "Penny, I know, we haven't paid the office rent, the vendors are breathing down our necks, and they've been patient only because they respect you. But now they need the money, and they're only giving us one more month." I exhaled, my grip tightening around my phone. "Don't stress. I'll handle it—like I always do." Even as I said it, doubt gnawed at me. "You don't need to worry about this. You're too young for all this

During my three-year-old son's preschool physical, his blood type didn't match mine or my wife's. I had just printed the divorce papers when I suddenly heard my son's voice. [This disgusting man is so stupid. He's raised me, his own little brother, as his son for years and still has no idea!] [Lol, hurry up and get divorced. Once they divorce, I can cling openly to my real mom!] [And divorced men are unwanted anyway. From now on, every dollar he earns will be mine!] My wife was still anxiously explaining, "Honey! I really never betrayed you! Do you really want a divorce?" I looked at my son's tightly closed lips and excited eyes, then tore up the divorce papers instead. "No divorce. S

I pulled the blanket up to my chin and just watch him while he was reading something. The novel I borrowed from the library. "Is this yours?" He pulled up the book. "Yeah." I answered. He examined it. "It's due to be returned yesterday by the way." Shit! "What?! Holy crap I totally forgot about that! What are the consequences for books returned late?" I startled. "I think you can't borrow a book for a week." He said while scanning through the pages. I scowl and stared at the ceiling. _________ SFTC: I Know You Care - Ellie Goulding

“That used to be my favorite book as a child and I'm sure you will love it too,” Nathan pulled out the book from the shelf and began to flip through it, suddenly he closed it and looked at me “Can I borrow it please?” he asked. “Let me think,” I said placing my hands on my jaw, after a short while, I replied “Hmm okay, only if you promised to bring it back in good condition” “I promised, it's going to be good as new,” he said smiling. “Then you can have it,” I replied. “Thanks,”

Clearing my throat, I explained, “I’m a new student, just admitted today. Can I borrow books for our courses to prepare for exams?” “Can I see your ID?” she requested. After checking her system, she looked back up at me. “I’m sorry, but all the books for your courses have been borrowed. You may have to wait a few more days.” I sighed and nodded before turning away. Just as I started to leave, her voice stopped me. “Hey, new student,” she called. I turned back to see her pointing to a student returning books. “These are some of the materials you’ll need,” she informed me. “And feel free to ask your classmates for help if necessary.”

"Lost a book?" "Yes, here are the books I borrowed from a friend. Isn't it frustrating? That thief could have stolen anything, but he went and stole one of those books. It isn't about the cost of the book or anything like that, but as I said, I borrowed the book from a friend. She hasn't come back yet, so I can't return her book to her. I'm scared that the thief will come back and steal more books, so I thought of keeping them here first. I'll return the books to her when she's back. Is that okay, Novalie?" Scarlette made a good point. After all, Novalie lived alone. Even though it wasn't a big house, there was still space for a few books.
