My body twitches in small, uncontrollable spasms. Danika's footsteps soon rush back into the room. "Kaziel—" Her voice cracks. I look up, or at least, I try to. My neck wobbles, too weak to hold my head fully. Her eyes widen the second she sees me. I know what she sees: my blue lips and pale skin and the way I'm shaking so hard I definitely look like I’m possessed. "Oh dear," she whispers, dropping to her knees beside me. "Kaziel, baby, why didn't you tell me it was this bad?"

My body trembled as I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. "What’s wrong with me?"

My legs are shaking, my ankles wobbling, and I'm clutching Orion's arms like he's the only thing between me and certain death. "This is a terrible idea," I mutter.

The tremor jumps up my wrist, and I curl my fingers tighter. “It’s getting harder,” I admit quietly. Kael crosses the room in two strides. He kneels in front of me, taking my hands before I can pull them away. The moment his fingers close around mine, the tremor settles slightly. It is not gone, just… softened. “Aria,” he says gently. “I’m fine.” I try not to sound frustrated, but I am struggling to keep it from voice. “You’re shaking.” “It’s just exhaustion,” I snap.

The tremors in my hands seemed to have intensified, making me feel even more self-conscious. I decided that a nice, relaxing bath might help soothe my nerves.
