Taken couldn't stand to be near normal people without killing them, so if one of us was safe, we all were. He was dressed in dark grey, with leather boots and a matching utility belt that hung at his waist. A gun sat at each hip, separated by a flashlight and a short sheathed knife. I looked up at his face and cringed. His skin was the tannest I'd ever seen, his blue eyes sharp and cold. He had a half sun tattooed on the side of his face, stretching from his right temple down to the tip of his jaw. "Where are you headed?"

At the time they finished the whole bottle of the seemingly expensive wine, they stopped in their tracks. "It's time to part ways, huh?" said one of them to the hunter I knew. No... he could not just leave me here! He had to take me with him! I looked at him with desperate eyes. He was a bounty hunter and he did not care what would happen to his victims at all but I was still hoping that there were morals left in him. He could not just leave me when he knew, of all people, what would happen once he let them take me!

We spot a few supernaturals. A group of bounty hunters, gathered near the entrance of a bar. They’re talking in hushed voices, passing around a worn-out bounty poster—my bounty poster. Achilles nudges me. "Oh, this is too easy." I raise a brow. "What are you thinking?" A slow, mischievous grin spreads across his face. "Watch and learn, love." "Oi!" He calls out, swaggering over to the group, his Aussie accent thick. The bounty hunters turn, sizing him up.

He said. “Gifted mates? I’m Human, I don’t have a mate. It’s not in my cards.” I said. “It is though, because you are my mate.” He said. “Yea... I don’t know about all that. I’m a Vampire Hunter, I kill people like you. In fact, I have killed a lot of people like you... Although, I could never kill you.” I said.

It pleased me to see how pissed Andrei got at the mention of all of his ‘bounty hunters’ who met their demise over the years. His eyes flashed with his anger, making me giggle. I wondered how pissy he would be if he learned that I was indeed responsible for this, and it was his precious Dexy that gave me many interesting answers. My codename was apparently Phoenix, so that proved the theory about why he needed me. He somehow knew about Hecate’s blessing.

“Who the fuck are you anyway?” “I am a bounty hunter, there's a high reward on her head,” replied the stranger. His words made me realise just why they were so insistent at finding me. But who would have dared to place a bounty on my head? It had to be somebody who had lots of money or who had access to a lot of it. “Well, the bounty you seek is not here and I hope that it was worth killing my guards to get to me because I will place a bounty on your head, hunter. One with a far greater reward than this,” Damien said before shutting the door.
