He asked. “Now!.” He said. The bounty hunter exclaimed. “I don’t have the ability to fly!!.” “But your child does!.” Helios said. “How much is it for me?!.” He asked. “Protection !.” Helios told him. “From what?!!!.” He yelled. “The people after you!.” The bounty hunter sighed and agreed to help Helios demands. Just like Helios had presumed he did have a Goblin and Pixie that he had caught, it was too bad they both had to die to save others but at least they became heroes with or without knowing, hopefully that was their dream to become heroes.

Zerena explained. Christ, this poor girl has been through too much. "What's a bounty seeker?" I whispered to Tate. "They hunt rare supernaturals to sell at the black market for a good sum of money. So Electra's gotta be rare and Zerena must have been at the black market tonight. Curious." Tate answered, watching Zerena closely. "Keep staring at me like that and I'll punch you in the face." Zerena threatened Tate, while still in her conversation with Everett and Electra.

Which is fine by me because now my powers are free to be all mine and not bound by the elders. Don’t worry, I use my powers for good… kind of. I’m a paranormal bounty hunter who is hired to capture the creatures that break the law or in some cases, piss of the wrong person. That’s how I found myself in the back alley of an apartment complex stalking a vampire. I was hired by a guy named “Stix” to capture and return the vamp alive to him. Apparently the vamp had embezzled over $10 million from him. Best part, he’s going to pay me $10 million to capture him as a tribute to the loss.

But for a devilishly long time that made my heart stop momentarily. “He touched me. Everywhere. For the first time in my life I was… touched like that, so passionately, so desperately and it was scary.” I gulped, observing his horror-stricken realization that disturbed my whole being. I wonder how long had locked his eyes on me. Yet, for my own consolation, I asked, “Was it you?” Only the Hunter was capable of reaching its target silently without leaving a trace or getting caught. There couldn’t be anyone else. “You had a 1 billion bounty on your head.” He mumbled, holding the hem of his shirt, pressing his teeth together in desperation.

SOFIA'S POV "Two thousand four hundred and fifty... two thousand five hundred," I mumbled, counting the damp bills for the second time to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. I handed the stack over to the bounty hunter. He was a scruffy-looking shifter with a scar across his nose, but he was the best tracker in the neutral zone. "This is half up front. You'll get the other half when you find her. Not a moment before."

Even in anger her beauty was hypnotizing. However, as well as being my mate she was also a Hunter. Their was nothing I hated more than Hunter’s. That side of her lineage was in conflict with my sense of right and wrong. The Order of Orion was responsible for my mother’s death. It was thanks to Hunters that I had grown up without a mother. I have been an infant when they had murdered her. Not only was my Mate a Hunter but apparently her pack welcomed them! This told me she wasn’t ashamed or embarrassed about her that side of her bloodline.

I felt for the blade strapped on my waist and grabbed it by the hilt. The door of my office-slash-house remained closed. The darkness inside of it was visible through the frosted square glass with the sticker “SCARLETMARK,” and underneath it, my name: Ruby Carnelian. Working as a bounty hunter, I could never be sure what was waiting for me whenever I got home from a job. If that was the case, this would not be the first time. I mean, if you’re out most days chasing supernatural creatures and devious humans, one of them—or someone who knows them—was bound to get some revenge on me of some sort. My fingers tightened on the hilt. It never hurt to be sure.

I waited for a minute but when I realized he might be occupied for a long time, I turned to return to my room but stopped, alarmed by the figure blocking my path. A bounty hunter. My heart skipped a beat. Shit. I needed to have a serious word with my mate about the defences in his own bloody territory. The male wore animal skin that was characteristic of bounty hunters but everything else about him was unsettling, from his charred lips to his bad left eye that swivelled sickeningly in its socket. “Renshaw, aye?” He said then grinned, revealing blackened, broken teeth. “How the hell did you get in here?” I backed away, readying myself to run.

If they did, places like this would be burned to the ground. Of course, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t supes that help the hunters. Whether it’s because they are crazy or because they are trying to save someone they love, there are supes that infiltrate different places and provide the hunters with a way in to capture and imprison us before forcing us into the fighting ring. I reach over and grab my food, snarling at the guy next to me. “What are you, anyway? Some kind of scavenger?” I ask him. He’s lanky and unkempt. He looks like a coyote shifter.
