Chapter 61 HOUSTON TEXAS “Do you mean the new branch too?” Bryan asked, furiously searching through his laptop. “Yes, the very latest one” Charles answered him, his eye brow raised, something like worry mingled with frustration playing on his forehead. Bryan kept on his laptop, his fingers furiously bounced on his keyboard, tossing to and fro on the keyboard and the mouse. “What the heck…” he pointed at his laptop, showing Charles one of the reports he got.

In front of him, a branch stained with my blood. Without thinking, he brought the branch to his mouth. The gesture was almost reverent. Strange. I grab one of the branches. Try to break it. Pain shoots through my hands. But I keep pulling. The branch breaks with a sound like screaming. Black blood pours out of it. "You cannot change what is coming," the voice says. "Watch me." I grab another branch. Break it too. More black blood. More screaming.

He tied the horse to a low branch and stepped forward, pushing through the bushes. Leaves brushed against his shoulders. Twigs snapped under his boots. He moved carefully, clearing branches out of his way. Then suddenly... Something clamped down on his arm. Hard. Teeth. Rian yelped in pain and jerked back, turning sharply. A branch had bent toward him, but it wasn’t normal. Embedded in the bark were small, human-like teeth, sunk into his sleeve, biting through the fabric and into his skin. The branch twitched. And then it growled.

Sarah closed her eyes, feeling the sensation of the branches' unusual reaction. What the hell is going on?! This wooden creature seemed to have its brain! It was moving like a person! When the branch moved an inch away, Sarah opened back her eyes. She smiled with curved lips, almost reaching her ears. It was clear to the eyes of the majority that she wasn't afraid of the tree, and she likes it! Suddenly, the branches totally moved away from Sarah. However, the scene does not end there. I was about to grab her again, but the tree's branch instantly cut off the chains between Sarah's hands!
