“I don’t dance,” Aurelia protested, dragging her heels as they moved toward the glowing dance floor, where bodies pressed together like waves.
Chloé shook her head, laughing. “Everyone dance here. Look, you are… how do you say? Invisible. Nobody cares. Just move.”
Aurelia hesitated, stiff in the middle of the floor until Chloé began moving—hips rolling, hair whipping around her shoulders, her hands clapping to the beat. She caught Aurelia’s wrists and forced her into the rhythm, shouting over the music.
