Chapter 40: A New Dawn The first thing Caden noticed when he woke was the warmth of the sunlight spilling through the thick curtains, casting soft golden rays across the room. It felt like a strange comfort after the cold darkness that had gripped him for so long. His body was still heavy with fatigue, his muscles aching, but there was a new kind of peace surrounding him.
