Fragile as Breath

Fragile as Breath

The couple who had been standing at the side, calmly watching the so-called brotherly reunion, suddenly dropped their elegant composure and rushed over in a panic. My biological mother, Catherine Lynch, reached out with trembling fingers to check if I was breathing. She took a long moment before finally letting out a shaky sigh of relief. "He's still breathing. Call an ambulance now!" The second I heard that, I snapped my eyes open and grabbed her wrist. "No need. It's just low blood sugar. I'll be fine."

Don't Breathe Too Close

Don't Breathe Too Close

JORDAN The door creaks open. Voices spill into the bathroom—louder, closer. My entire body jerks. He doesn’t speak, doesn’t move. And I—I can’t breathe. My heart slams against my ribs as the men enter, laughing, dragging the reek of cigarette smoke and sweat with them. I press myself tighter against Alaric’s chest, trying to disappear. I expect him to push me away, maybe toss some smug comment at me, or reveal me just to watch me squirm. But he doesn’t.

Family Ties

What I couldn't do was breathe. The edges of my vision narrowed with black shadows. Silver twinkles of light danced before my eyes. And the stabbing pain in my heart only increased with every intake my lungs managed to accomplish. The book hit the floor with a thud. Stumbling to my feet, I half-crawled and half-lunged toward the hall, desperate to escape the walls closing in. Hensley called out after me. I heard the words. They just didn't register.

His Hunger, My Curse

His Hunger, My Curse

Cassian froze. Not in fear. Not in hesitation. But as though something held him still. Lena gasped, stepping forward instinctively. “Let him go!” The figure exhaled—a slow, measured breath. Cassian’s body loosened, and he stumbled slightly, as if suddenly freed from invisible chains. His golden eyes narrowed, fury sparking behind them. “He does not see yet,” the figure said. Lena felt the shift before it happened. The Rift inside her pulled. It was like something had reached inside her chest and wrapped around her core, tugging her forward—not physically, but in a way that made her stomach lurch. The book in her arms pulsed violently, the ancient script on its cover glowing with a dim, eerie

PROFESSOR GREY'S GIRL

PROFESSOR GREY'S GIRL

I could feel myself having a little panic attack. I couldn’t breathe, my chest felt like it was cramping, my rib cage closing in my head that it wasn’t receiving oxygen. Shooting my hand towards my chest, I crumpled my top, gasping for air for my deprived lungs. My other hand pinning on the ground. It was coming back…. Again. I didn’t know but the book in his hands dropped to the ground, he rushed over to where I was implanted to the ground, unable to hear anything.

##Chapter 60: Cassidy Book Two: Don't Leave Once we've both spent ourselves, all that can be heard in my darkened room is the sound of our ragged breathing. He lowers his face to the delicate hollow of my neck so that his warm breath can feather across my skin. His heart pounds, racing against mine.

Broken by One, Desired by All

Broken by One, Desired by All

I felt it. His anger didn’t fade, it faltered. Warped into something else. Unease. Because I wasn’t fighting him. I wasn’t fighting anyone. I was kneeling beside a blood-soaked bed, counting breaths like a desperate man counting down the seconds before a bomb detonates. One. Zane’s chest rose... barely. Two. It stuttered on the exhale. Three. It didn’t rise immediately. My heart slammed so violently against my ribs I thought I’d black out. “Breathe,” I whispered under my breath, not sure if I was talking to him or myself. “Come on. Breathe.”

I usually don’t do reviews however I feel like this book may get overlooked. I didn’t know how I would feel reading this book at first but the author has a fantastic way of writing which is easy to read and picture. I think the romantic relationships in this book is more tasteful than I expected!

REJECTED BY MY ALPHA HUSBAND

REJECTED BY MY ALPHA HUSBAND

The rose trembled in my hand. Leah's fingers twitched. "Leah." I leaned forward. "Leah." Another breath. Then another. Suddenly her chest rose sharply. Like someone breaking through deep water. She inhaled violently. A huge gasp. Air rushed into her lungs, her body jerked. The entire battlefield erupted, shouts, cheers, disbelief, relief. I barely heard any of it. Leah's eyes fluttered open confused, disoriented and alive. The weight crushing my chest shattered instantly.
