Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

But he was finding a way to carry the weight. On the second day, they encountered their first major thinning. It wasn't a small patch of earth. It was a bridge. Or what was left of one. It had once been a stone arch over a rushing river, a testament to old craftsmanship. Now, the middle section was simply gone. Not collapsed into the water, but absent, replaced by that same silent, grey nothingness. The river itself seemed to hesitate, its water flowing into the void on one side and reappearing on the other, its joyful roar muted into a confused whisper.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Fair. Very fair. Reasonable honestly. Then Darius simply walked forward. Like nothing was wrong. Then: "It's just a bridge." Silence. Then the bridge suddenly shook. BOOOOOOOOM! Everyone almost fell. Then Ava pointed at Darius. Then: "You did that." Honestly? Fair. Very fair. Reasonable honestly. Then halfway across— they saw movement. Immediately. Then the Third Crown pulsed. Warning. Danger. Then shapes emerged from the blue mist. Dozens.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

His Bride

His Bride

My fingers curl around the railings, feeling the cold metal hit my hand sending shiver down my spine. "Wow! "I muttered as I watch the beautiful view in front of me. It looks like an island. So hunter built his house in an island. Gosh, how rich is he really ? Cos I know to be able to building a fucking mansion in an island isn't a joke. I smile closing my eyes as the wind blow my hair. I giggles as it hit my body giving me goosebumps. That stop when Hunter's voice say behind me. "What are you doing here? "

Born Again

Born Again

The water was green and shiny. During that sunset, we crossed the bridge and continued the journey. Surely our teacher has noticed by now that we are not there. We walked and walked and walked. We even weren’t out of topic so we walked quietly, by then it was dark in the evening. We met another river. One hell of a big dam or river. It was too big and surely too deep, you could hear the sound of the water. Its water was dark and shiny. As for the bridge, it was so small that a car wouldn’t cross on it- even two people at the same time wouldn’t. It was so small that if the wind could blow, one would fall.

The Alpha's Wolf-less Luna

Elora was well now, the healing medicines at the bridge were the fastest kind she's ever used but what she couldn't get out of her mind was how this place called the bridge existed. It confused her so much that she decided to ask the nurses again, just to clarify of course. " Wait, don't be mad but I need to be sure that I clearly understand what you two are saying very well" she started as she put down the phone of the blue-haired girl whose name was Dara. She was scrolling past the picture-perfect shots of the Bridge and it was safe to say that it also added to her confusion.

After three and a half hours passed, they entered the remnants of a city. They had passed a few smaller towns on their way, but the buildings here were closer together, turning into suburban areas. They came up to a large bridge. The train zipped right on past the river. On the left was bright blue ocean water and on the right was muddy dark water. The long bridge took four minutes to pass even at their speed and as they approached the end of the bridge, the train car started to slow.

Crossing The Bridge

Crossing The Bridge

It is rude and pathetic, but most people lack bravery and basic decency. I am a Bridge. It is a role I chose before I was born into this lifetime. My soul has reincarnated since the first human was created. Really gives meaning to the “old soul” label. To be a bridge, one’s soul must have been reincarnated for thousands of years and have mastered most of the roles they have chosen in previous lives. Few souls choose to be a Bridge. It is a very challenging soul role to level out of.

His note cards trembled slightly in his hands but his voice was steady as he spoke. “My project is about bridges,” he began. “But not just bridges that connect places. Bridges can connect people too. They have to be strong because sometimes the weather is bad. Sometimes one side is heavier than the other. Sometimes the ground moves.” I felt Lucian’s hand find mine. His fingers closed around mine beneath the tiny desk. Daniel continued, “The most important thing about a bridge is not that it looks perfect. It’s that it holds when something tries to break it.” A painful pressure built behind my eyes.

House of Sighs

“PART ONE: Boarding “Men’s courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead . . . ” —Charles Dickens” ONE HUNDRED AND THREE: James Bridge “We have two cemeteries and no hospitals—so drive carefully”, read the sign coming into James Bridge. The population at the time was marked at a firm 2022. Outsiders built homes in its vacant lots, leaving neighbors scratching their heads, wondering what spell The Bridge cast over those not born there. Surrounded by vineyards and two hours northwest of Sydney, it was a highway town passed through on the way to somewhere better.

The Scar Beneath The Veil

The Scar Beneath The Veil

Dante simply gave a firm nod, adjusting his grip on a walking stick he had carved with his father the previous evening. Half a mile up the winding trail, the forest opened into a sunlit clearing where a shallow, crystalline stream cut through the granite rocks. A thick, fallen cedar log spanned the water—a natural bridge that immediately caught the attention of the younger team. "The bridge needs a structural assessment," Dante declared, stepping up to the edge and tapping the wood with his stick. "It looks solid, but the moss might be slippery."
