my girlfriend's Dad

my girlfriend's Dad

The boards groaned under their weight, every step echoing into the chasm below. Halfway across, Eli felt his comm vibrate again. He ignored it. Then the bridge shuddered. “MOVE!” Damian shouted. Eli ran, boots slipping on wet metal. Behind him, a cable snapped—then another. The bridge twisted violently, boards ripping free. Cole leapt the last gap and hit the ground rolling. When Eli reached the other side, half the bridge was gone, swallowed by the ravine. “Guess there’s no turning back,” Cole muttered, chest heaving.

Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

But he was finding a way to carry the weight. On the second day, they encountered their first major thinning. It wasn't a small patch of earth. It was a bridge. Or what was left of one. It had once been a stone arch over a rushing river, a testament to old craftsmanship. Now, the middle section was simply gone. Not collapsed into the water, but absent, replaced by that same silent, grey nothingness. The river itself seemed to hesitate, its water flowing into the void on one side and reappearing on the other, its joyful roar muted into a confused whisper.

The Alpha's Last Bond Breaker

The Alpha's Last Bond Breaker

With the bonds between people made manifest. And everywhere, people. Walking across the bridges. Strengthening them with each step. Building new connections. Creating new pathways. "How does it work?" I asked a woman passing by. She smiled. "The bridges are bonds. Literal bonds between people. When two people connect—when they form a relationship, a friendship, a partnership—a bridge forms between their cities. The stronger the bond, the stronger the bridge." "And if the bond breaks?" "The bridge fades. But it doesn't disappear completely. Just becomes translucent. A reminder of what was. Some people rebuild them. Some let them fade. Some use them as foundations for new bonds."

When Silence Met Fire

When Silence Met Fire

"You look different." "Different how?" "I don't know. Like you finished something." Maya looked at the building. The stone walls. The tall windows. The place where she'd been learning things she didn't understand. "I did." --- The lecture was about bridges. Old ones. The ones that had been rebuilt after falling. The speaker showed slides. Stone arches. Iron cables. Wooden planks worn smooth by footsteps. Pictures of bridges that had collapsed. Pictures of bridges that had been put back together.

The Wrong Vow, My Perfect Match

The Wrong Vow, My Perfect Match

Naomi followed her gaze. A large stone bridge crossed the water several hundred meters away. Old. Historic. One of the oldest structures in the city. The letter hadn't specified which bridge. But somehow both of them knew. It was that one. They started walking. The sky darkened further. Wind swept across the river. The first drops of rain began falling. Small. Scattered. A warning. Not yet the storm itself. As they approached the bridge, Ama felt something strange. A faint pressure.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Fair. Very fair. Reasonable honestly. Then Darius simply walked forward. Like nothing was wrong. Then: "It's just a bridge." Silence. Then the bridge suddenly shook. BOOOOOOOOM! Everyone almost fell. Then Ava pointed at Darius. Then: "You did that." Honestly? Fair. Very fair. Reasonable honestly. Then halfway across— they saw movement. Immediately. Then the Third Crown pulsed. Warning. Danger. Then shapes emerged from the blue mist. Dozens.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

His Bride

His Bride

My fingers curl around the railings, feeling the cold metal hit my hand sending shiver down my spine. "Wow! "I muttered as I watch the beautiful view in front of me. It looks like an island. So hunter built his house in an island. Gosh, how rich is he really ? Cos I know to be able to building a fucking mansion in an island isn't a joke. I smile closing my eyes as the wind blow my hair. I giggles as it hit my body giving me goosebumps. That stop when Hunter's voice say behind me. "What are you doing here? "
