He wore a midnight blue graphic tee and shorts since we were at home. I closed the book — a romance novel that would have captured my attention if I wasn't so distracted. There was a knock at the door announcing Xander's presence before the door could crack open. Xander peaked his head in, sniffing the air around him; a knowing smile displaying itself onto his face.

Zarha's POV “This one is from me,” Xander says, holding out another small square box. It’s about half the size of the one Tobias gave me. This one isn’t wrapped in paper, but the black velvet box has a neat red satin ribbon around it. I take it from Xander and undo the bow, then lift the lid. Inside is a beautiful bracelet. It’s like a woven vine circling around, with an intricately carved clasp and leaves etched into it. There are regular loops designed to look like shoots from the vine. It’s delicate and so beautiful. I pick it up. It moves like a chain, but looks more solid.

Of course Xander turned around and looked right at her. Crap. Heart pounding, Kennedy immediately unsnagged her hoodie and crouched down to pick up the boxes. She had three in her hands when a pair of black, lace-up boots stepped into her field of view. Their owner squatted down and reached for some of the boxes. "Why are you even looking at this stuff? You hate stuffing."

‘How much, on a scale of one to ten? ‘Well …’ She pretended to think about it. ‘How about seven?’ ‘Seven?’ ‘Eight, then. Nine! Theodore! Okay—ten!’ ‘You’re wearing stockings,’ he breathed in disbelief. ‘Well, you’ve nagged me often enough about my tights.’ ‘With good reason. Let me see.’ He lifted up her skirt and expelled a small appraising sigh. The tops of the dark silk stockings had been embroidered with deep turquoise and green, so that it looked as if some peacock had wrapped its feathers enticingly around her thighs and left them there. ‘You know that there are consequences to dressing like that?’ he questioned unsteadily.

She opened the bottom drawer and pulled out a luxurious black box she had kept hidden. “I wore these today,” she said, holding up a pair of sheer black silk stockings. “The ones you gifted me last week. The ones you told me to wear under my skirt every day.” Skyler’s gray eyes darkened with fresh, intense hunger. His cock twitched visibly at the sight of the delicate material.

We both burst into laughter, holding hands while climbing the short stairs of the mall entrance. "We would need a lot of sexy lingerie; I don't want us to go there and start looking like our problems." I chuckled at her remark, walking beside her into a female underwear shop. What is even going on? What do you even put in a stocking for a damn adult?
