Chasing Sunlight

Chasing Sunlight

We got out and halted our footsteps by the front of the car, admiring the setting sun and all the colors in the sky. "You ready?" I asked as I took the position, looking like I was about to run in a track event after the gun sounded. "Ready for what?" I looked up and informed him as if it were obvious, "We are going to chase the sunlight." Kiran looked back to the horizon and stared for a moment before laughing, "You aren't serious." "I told you I was going to show you how I have fun," I straightened to look at him in the eye before gesturing to the sun, "This is my fun."

Bound with Shadows

Bound with Shadows

Naomi's POV The next morning, the sun broke in through the hospital windows like it had something to prove. It wasn't the gentle light from yesterday's golden hour, but a sharp, unapologetic kind of brightness. The kind that made you squint even with your eyes closed. Still, it wasn't unwelcome. Not today. I wanted to be a little ray of sunshine, and what better way than receiving the bright sunlight that almost blinded my eyes first? Because today was different.

Gifted To The Disabled Alpha

ALPHA PHOENIX. The morning rays of the sun were filled with vitality as its golden light cascaded over the great earth. The sun rises and sets as if on fast-forward, as if there was some divine hurry to reach the winter. Though the sun is still bright, still brilliant in the sky, it is cooler even on the days that lack cloud. I squinted my eyes opened and took a deep breath of the cool air that seeped in through the slightly opened window.

I didn’t bother with an umbrella; it was a bit hot, but I felt lighter than I had in years. Even the darkest places eventually see the light.

The least I could do was make sure I had enough armor to make it through. The sun was bright in the sky, and the weather gave off all the feelings of a wonderful and carefree day. I groaned and growled at the sun. I was mad that it had the audacity to shine like all was right in the world when so much was wrong, when there was so much trouble happening.

Caged to the moon king

Caged to the moon king

"Because something as special as unique as the sun works so hard but never gets any return for its good deeds." "You're wrong Heaven, the display of its beauty to the earth is enough achievement to the sun. It's either it appears daily or it might get consumed on its own. That's why when it's rainy or cloudy on some occasions, the sun becomes angry when it's out. The days of not being able to show it's beauty and power would be doubles and we suffer for it hotly" I sighed and smiled. "You're quite right, I had terrible burns on my skin at Athens Pack after the winter. Work wasn't easy during the cold, but it was hell for me when the sun came out."

Nevertheless, the astrologer was right. “A new sun has risen. A new day has begun. Narendra’s era is over now. I am the mighty emperor of Hesmia. You all should obey me and follow my rules. If anyone dares to disobey, behead them right away. Those who support me will be rewarded.” Remington uttered.

CRAVING THE PRIMORDIAL ELDER

CRAVING THE PRIMORDIAL ELDER

“Remember the sun! Remember the life inside you! BURN HIM!” Suddenly, Naelis’s light became brighter and more blinding than ever before. It wasn't just golden anymore, it was a white hot fire that felt like the sun had touched the earth. The power surged through her veins, making her eyes glow with a light so bright that Lihont had to shield his eyes. The golden wave began to overpower Lihont’s shadows and darkness started to evaporate and disappear into the air. Now, Lihont was the one being pushed back, his boots skidded on the stone porch, and his shadow leg began to flicker.

I perched myself up on my elbows and took in the heat of the sun as it caressed my skin and brought life to it. The creator created many wrong things in the world, mortals being one of them, but the simple sunrise and sunset that he created was probably his most majestic creation yet. A simple sunrise brought not only the dawn of a new day but it brought new beginnings and a fresh start to those who hadn't seen any hope in a long time.

I normally read werewolf stories, which is how I found this author as I've been reading the Kylie's other books. This is the first story I've read with Demons and Angels, and I have really enjoyed it. A massive congratulations to Kylie for another great story. Looking forward to more stories :)

I was enthralled by this story of good and and evil. I believe you are a little closer to the mark than most which makes this story very interesting to read. I was very impressed. I definitely think you should do a follow up. Your writing is very talented. Thank you for an amazing tale. Please more.
