There was a small painting supposedly made with human blood, a doll filled with bleached animal bones, and a gemstone as big as my fist. It reflected my haggard face back at me, only it blackened my eyes like that of a demon, causing me to lurch away in shock. “Creepy,” I muttered, swiping at my tired eyes.

He breathed in the scent of the burning aromatherapy candles before standing up and rotating the inkwell on the desk. The ground moved, revealing a space below. The man walked down the stairs, carrying a lamp. In the dark underground space, a wooden doll stood. In front of it was an array of offerings, but those were unimportant in comparison to the sheets of paper the old man was burning in front of the doll with certain people's horoscopes written on them. The fire roared, and the doll appeared to come alive, devouring all the energy around it. "Someone has destroyed my other body. Look into it," the doll said, its voice harsh and creaky.
