“I meant they don’t need fixing,” he stated again and I swear I could feel frustration building, gripping his hand tighter in mine, aware of a tingling sensation travelling down my arms, towards my heart.
“Go on then, what do they need?”

“Simple as that?” I scoff.
“Simple as that,” he repeats, his voice softening to a gravelly, deep bass. The kind of voice that makes a bar go quiet when they overhear it. It doesn’t scare me.
