Aurora had always imagined heartbreak would feel like a sharp, sudden pain, like a knife to the chest, immediate and devastating. As she stood frozen in the doorway of the dimly lit apartment she had shared with Shawn for the last three years; she realized heartbreak wasn’t always so dramatic. Sometimes, it was quiet, and slow; almost a numb, creeping sensation that started at the edges of her mind and worked its way inward, wrapping around her like a vice.

The bond shattered, and Yasmin felt the warmth replaced by a cold, searing pain that tore through her very soul. She gasped, her knees buckling as she fell to the ground, her hands clutching at her chest as if she could somehow hold the pieces of her heart together. The agony was unlike anything she had ever felt—like something inside her was being ripped apart, leaving her hollow and broken.

Their faces were a mixture of shock and surprise, never expecting to look up to find me watching them f**k. As I stood there, my eyes locked on their form, horror coursed through my veins. I couldn't tear my gaze away from the sight of Devin's naked body intertwined with that of the other woman. It was an image that seared into my mind, etching pain and betrayal deep into my heart. My heart felt like it was being ripped apart, each beat causing excruciating pain. A loud sob escaped my lips, the sound a raw manifestation of the fire burning in my chest, reducing me to ashes. Was this what heartbreak felt like? I never imagined it could be so agonizing.

It felt like my heart had been ripped to so many pieces, it seemed like a puzzle that has been broken and nothing could fix it. In the midst of the turmoil that had engulfed my world, I couldn't escape the overwhelming sense of emptiness that consumed me. It was as if a storm had torn through the very core of my being, leaving behind nothing but desolation. Each shard of my shattered heart seemed to ache with a pain that was both physical and emotional. I had always prided myself on my strength, on my ability to face any challenge head-on. But this was a pain unlike any I had ever known.

The reality of my insignificance to him reverberated within me, each word a reminder of my naivety. "Well, you thought wrong." My retort was a whisper, the remnants of my shattered spirit barely clinging to my voice. With a trembling hand, I wiped the tears that continued to flow, my heartache an open wound that refused to heal. The room, once a battleground of emotions, now held only the echoes of my anguish, a poignant reminder of love lost and illusions shattered.

Coming to me she swiped to other photos and indeed it was the photos of the dinner . The photos of them felt like a stinging slap to my face. It felt like someone had stabbed me right in the heart.Was it heartbreak? I didn't know why they call it heartbreak. It felt like every other part of my body was broken too. Broken legs, no longer felt like I could stand on it. Broken wrist, no longer I could hold his hands. Broken ribs . Nobody , not even me could see it but felt the shattering with the loudest quiet ever heard , it hurt everytime I took in the air in my lungs.

The thing about heartbreak was you can’t see anyone other than the person that had hurt you. You can’t see how someone else looks at you because you’re blinded by the pain and betrayal from the past. You looked at everyone like they’re out to get you. Life becomes a series of black and white. Right and wrong. Good and bad. It’s bleak, lonely, and sad. Laughter becomes fleeting and happiness seems nonexistent. And though you appreciate the company and support the wound was still there. Someone may fill up the gap but it doesn’t heal the wound from the past.

Every second feels like forever, as my broken heart shatters further with each gasp, filling my mouth with even more water, until the darkness seeps in, swallowing me whole. But I don’t fight it. Instead, I let it consume me. I welcome its cold embrace, as the words, 'You're nothing but a bet' echoes in my mind like a broken whisper.

Then he cupped his hands over her cheek. "I trust you with my heart Tan," she finally spoke, "it has always been yours and no one can take your place in my heart." "My heart beats for you. You are my first and only priority Gabby and I don't want to spend another day, not a single moment, without you." he whispered. His lips grazed hers and then the tears she had let slip. "I love you.
