It was all peaceful for a moment until I had another vision. I saw Trevor hiding in the woods, dressed the same way he was in my last vision, his hair was darker and he had a dour expression on his face. He slowly opened the briefcase he was holding and pulled out a glowing bullet. He loaded his gun with the bullet and aimed it at me. “RUN!” I got up immediately and started hyperventilating. Blake tried to calm me down but it wasn’t working, so he held both sides of my head with his hands and I heard his voice in my mind.

JUDE POV I’m on the phone with Tito when Jace comes back into the room as though his ass is on fire. I called my friend and explained the situation, hoping that he had an idea on how to make this look better than what it does at the moment. It’s during the call that I begin to poke around the room and find a pistol in the top drawer. I’m not dumb enough to leave my prints on areas of the room where they shouldn't be, so I us my shirt to open the drawer, and bingo, there it was. Upon further inspection, I find a wooden baseball bat in a corner by a case with baseball paraphernalia. I find it hard to believe that Elias was a fan; it might have been left from the previous owner.

There was silence at the background of the other line, and then a husky voice spoke up “Yes Bullet, any news” “We found her…she is in a club….really pretty” Bullet smirked “Good…….do the job…and make it clean” The voice from the other line muttered “Trust me to do my job” Bullet muttered and dropped the call He faced his companions “Hey guys….it’s time to move”

His head throbbed, pulse quickened and blood flowed through each of his veins at the speed of light. His body was burning in fury just like the dry dead branches burned caught in the flaming fire. Burned till the monstrous flame extinguished at last satisfied by turning the branch into ashes.

She pulled a small blade from her belt and drove it toward his gut. A gunshot echoed. Delilah jerked forward, stunned. Blood spread across her blouse like spilled ink. She turned— Amara stood in the hallway behind her, pistol raised, eyes wild. Delilah stumbled back, reaching for Matteo’s face. "I would’ve burned the world with you," she rasped. He caught her as she fell. Lowered her gently to the floor. Her eyes fluttered closed. A faint smile ghosted across her lips. Then she was gone.

The snapping of the mate bond was enough pain to last a lifetime. “Bond not of the moon. Bond not of the goddess. But bond by choice. I pronounce you mates by choice. Chapter 2: The Rot Beneath The next morning, Atlas wakes with the shape of the girl still burned into his mind. Her white hair, the way she didn’t move even when the wind picked up. She’d looked like she belonged there, a fixture among the dead. His dreams hadn’t been any kinder. He’d dreamt of bones beneath his skin, shifting like they were trying to get out. He'd dreamt of voices whispering in the dark, too low to understand but heavy with meaning.

Was this transfer the only thing that could soothe the darkness inside them? Regardless of the answer, pleasure struck me in a violent wave, setting every nerve in my body on fire. She cut herself and held out her hand in the air, so the blood dropped into the sacred bowl. " Hold your hands together so the cuts meet," he said. I turned and faced her, her pretty face was a charm on its own and I found myself struggling to concentrate. I stretched out my hands to her, she did the same and placed her cut palm on mine. A spark was felt and I knew she felt it as well. The fire began to burn so well. Our wolves began to collide and I was struggling to breathe. It seemed the two wolves were trying to become one and we were the ones being affected by it.
