From Shadows, Emerging Tides

From Shadows, Emerging Tides

Melody and Azalea, look over the cake. "Isn't it gorgeous. That bake shop does a wonderful job." Melody says. "Absolutely, we use the Emerald Coast Bake shop from time to time as well. They are talented and dedicated. Are you going to get Leo's cake from there? His birthday is towards the end of the month isn't it!" "Yes, their birthdays are a few weeks apart, he will be ten. a decade old!" Melody's eyes soften and moisten glancing briefly at both children by the cake."Let's sing to Mia now and then we can cut the cake."

I Can't Be Mated to Him

I Can't Be Mated to Him

—she produces a plate from behind her back—“Cirocco said this was your favorite.” A thick slice of gingery cake oozes toffee filling onto the dish. One whiskey-soaked cherry sits beside it, still smeared with frosting that promises she stole it off another slice to ensure I had one. “I can’t believe they made it.” I reach for the plate slowly. “He’s right, but this is only supposed to be for the turn of the new year.” She shrugs and sits on the opposite side of the windowsill from me. “Kaloni said this was the beginning of a whole new period for Lightning Cape, so it only made sense.”

Rewinding My Reaper Boyfriend

Rewinding My Reaper Boyfriend

Cale looked at the oven. "Thank you," Cale said stiffly. "Is the carbonized disk the gift?" "No. That's trash. We're going to the bakery in town. Get your coat." "We are purchasing a replacement cake?" "We are purchasing a slice. And maybe a candle." "A candle," Cale repeated. "Open flame. Inside a structure." "It's tradition. You blow it out. You make a wish." "I do not wish," Cale said. "I plan." "Today, you wish. Come on."

Found (Book #8 in the Vampire Journals)

she screamed, and turned and hugged Caitlin tightly. Caitlin beamed with satisfaction. It was Scarlet’s favorite cake, a red velvet cheesecake she’d once had in Manhattan and never forgot. The bakery in the city was the only one that made it, and Caitlin had taken a special trip the day before, two hours each way, just to get it for her. Scarlet turned to Blake, who was lingering back; she grabbed his hand and pulled him forward, right next to her. “Oh my god you don’t understand!” she gushed to him. “This is the world’s best cake. You have to taste it!”

Island Kisses

Island Kisses

It looked to be a breathtaking sunset. “Can we watch the sunset?” I asked, already standing up. “Of course!” Gabe said, nearly knocking over his chair and taking my hand. I followed him out to the patio and we stepped up to the railing. The ocean sprawled out in front of us, all the way to the horizon, where the sun sat lonely on the water. The sky was on fire, making the incredible view from the island even more breathtaking. A warm breeze blew off of the sea, causing my hair to fall across my forehead. Gabe reached over and pushed the loose hair over my ear. His touch was soft, as if he were afraid I might disappear if he touched me.

An Ocean Between Hearts

An Ocean Between Hearts

All it had taken was a phone call to arrange these gifts—yet he was seven years too late. After unwrapping the last box, she stood and looked at the butler. "Sell it all and donate the money to the orphanage." ... The days flew by, and Amelia's departure loomed closer. Hugh and Luna cleared their schedules, determined to make the most of every moment with her. They hit the city hard—sunsets on the beach, Ferris wheel rides, candied snacks from street vendors, and desserts at swanky restaurants. For the first time in forever, Amelia felt... happy.

Thirty Days

Thirty Days

Oh well, it is not really my problem, but I just hate food going to waste. My last and final delivery is to an old folks’ home. Betty, the resident matriarch, is turning one hundred today, and the home has organised a party for her. Everyone is very excited when I bring in my boxes filled with traditional Victoria sponge, chocolate and cherry tart and a coffee and walnut cake. I have even made and iced a special carrot cake complete with ten candles; the matron thought a whole hundred would probably set off the sprinkler system, so we compromised on one for each decade. I stop in at Betty’s room to wish her a happy birthday before heading back to Bread to begin this morning’s batch of baking

The Billionaire's Bargain

The Billionaire's Bargain

PENELOPE I arrived at the bakery just as the sun was beginning to set, carrying the cake box like it was made of gold. Because honestly? It kind of was. The three-tier chocolate cake I’d stayed up decorating was nestled safely inside, complete with delicate butterflies, edible gold dust, and pink frosting swirls that looked like little clouds. Olivia was going to lose her mind. It was early—barely 8:45 a.m.—and Maya was already there, tying her apron and wiping down the counter like her life depended on it.

A Ruling Passion: Mr Tremont's Priceless Little Bride

A Ruling Passion: Mr Tremont's Priceless Little Bride

Arianne smiled, “Thank you.” The middle-aged man smiled shyly and didn’t say anything more. Arianne’s gaze landed on a small cake on the corner of the table. The cake was enough for one person’s share and had the words “happy birthday” written on it. Overall, it looked rather exquisite. It was clear that this cake was from White Water Bay Café. That would explain why the man, who seemed to have average finances, would come to a place like this for a meal. It’s sad to celebrate one’s birthday alone, so it was a pretty good choice for him to treat himself to a meal in a place like this.

So this isn’t really a book it is a Kdrama in print form. It never ends really. I like it but I dislike the way every sexual interaction between Mark and Arianne is described as marital rape. It really is ok for a wife to enjoy sex with her husband and the author could reflect that in their writing.

Pelican Bay Security

Pelican Bay Security

I drive down Main Street in Pelican Bay, intending to head to the beach and clear my thoughts by listening to the waves crash against the shore, but the smell of fresh baked bread forces my car to pull over into a space in front of the bakery. I walk in the front doors not talking to anyone, but Anessa takes one look at me and pulls a chocolate cupcake from her display case. The frosting is white with black specks and it's easy to figure out the flavor with the circular Oreo placed on top standing straight up in the frosting. "You look like you need this," she says, handing me the cupcake. I take it without complaint and sit down on the opposite side of the little table that usually houses P

OMG one of the BEST books I’ve read on this app. Freaking hilarious with lots of action and romance. I was literally LOL-ing. Like late at night. Laying in my bed. At 2am. Cause I couldn’t stop reading. I’m pretty sure you all know what I mean… could not stop reading!!!

Absolutely 1000% the best stories I have ever read!!! I was so hooked I have read almost 24 hours straight because I didn’t want to stop. I have laughed, smiled, been on edge when action unfolded, even shed a tear or 12 more in the last day reading this than in 40 years of daily reading. I want more
