She hoped there were trees where Alistair lived. She suddenly realized she knew nothing about where they would be living. But it didn't matter, home would be where Alistair was. She saw the pack watching her in amazement. Wolves couldn't climb. She smiled to herself. "I'm on my way down love." Alistair waited patiently as she made her way back down the tree, leaping the last ten feet to the ground.

Due was still too exhausted, and I couldn’t risk losing control or snapping after barely getting myself. The next day, we resumed our journey. This time, we passed through multiple packs, taking carriages from one territory to the next. The movement was steady, purposeful, yet the miles stretched on endlessly. Two weeks later, we finally reached the outskirts of Wildfire. The familiar landscape stirred something deep within me, anticipation mixed with dread. I didn’t need confirmation to know the news of my arrival had already spread. Too many wolves had seen us during our passage through their territories, and word travels fast.
