Cami huffed, sounding a mixture of relief and irritation. “She probably can feel how much I love her momma,” I whispered, smiling down at her. I heard the sound of a camera snap. I looked up to see Cami holding her phone with tears in her eyes. “I had to capture such a beautiful moment,” she smiled, trying to fight back her tears. I felt Dex push forward and a rush of electricity swim through my body. I took a deep breath, smelling vanilla and strawberries. ‘MATE,’ Dex growled possessively.

Cammie's face pales and she drops the canister and USB to the ground, the picture floats slowly landing on top. Oh shit.

Their silence stretched—tender, unsure. Then— Flashes. Voices. “Serena! Damien! Are you back together?” Cameras exploded behind the hedges. Shouts came from all angles. Damien moved instinctively, stepping in front of her, shielding her. Security rushed forward. The noise blurred. But Serena’s heart stopped for a different reason. Across the garden, barely hidden by the rose archway… stood Camille. Phone in hand. Streaming. Recording. A wicked smile on her lips. The caption read:

And in a way, it does. Céline’s just outside the breakfast court, heading toward one of the little cruise shops. She’s got a digital camera hanging around her neck and is squinting at the settings like they personally offended her. She’s muttering under her breath in French, pressing buttons like she’s trying to deactivate a bomb. “Céline!” I call, grinning so wide it hurts. She jumps like she’s been tased. The camera slips right out of her hands but, thank God, the strap catches it mid-air. She gasps, clutches her heart, and lets out a dramatic sigh when she realises it’s safe.

"We found his vehicle." "Where?" "Queens." Kane's expression hardened. "Is he inside?" "No. The vehicle was abandoned." "When?" "About forty minutes ago." Kane looked toward the window. "Traffic cameras?" "We have several angles." "Pull everything." "We're already doing it." "Then don't stop until you know where he went." "Understood." Kane ended the call. His mind immediately went to Mona. He wanted to call her. He wanted to ask what happened.

Champagne walked out of the kitchen towards the door and unlocked it, there was no one specific but a box of chocolates and a bunch of roses. Her eyes lifted and scanned the hallway but no one was around, her gaze landed back on the flowers and she bent down to pick them up and heard a click as a blue light flashed her way. Champagne her head quick and stood to up, she was sure she heard a camera and even saw a light. Someone was watching her, she been right some one was stalking her. Her eyes turned to the flowers again, she was growing more suspicious of these flowers. Champagne picked them up with the box of chocolate's and walked inside.
