I dove aside, the danger passing where I’d stood a heartbeat before. The woman and I circled each other once, then twice. Her movements were deliberate, calculated. I risked a glance Aries was in a half-shift, morphing seamlessly between wolf and man as he battled the other one. His claws flashed, his body twisting with a fluidity no Alpha should’ve been capable of. Even half-shifts were unstable, yet he wielded it like a weapon. Truly, he was on another level. I turned back to the woman stalking me, looking for a weakness.

Bent over, screaming his name, clawing at him as he made her forget every reason she’d ever had to be angry with him. The lust was instant. Savage. Aries had never struggled to control himself, but this woman—his woman—could bring him to the edge with a glance. And she hadn’t even looked at him yet. But then—finally—she did. If there was anyone alive that might be able to find a way to stop a bond or block it he had a feeling it was this woman. Aries hadn’t even realized that he was moving until he had her against the wall. Her softer form pressed back and he couldn’t help moving just a bit closer. That drive to be in her space, to mark what was his hit him hard. Be it in scent or other ways, sharp. He had one hand by her side on the wall, the other curving around the side of her neck and his body caged her there. Aries pushed down on the need to dominate and put her in her place. Make her back down, he had not been able to control the movement. However he did need to control himself some.

Me- Hey man, can she ride on your back? Aries- She has zero interest in us beyond friendship. Yeah, I’ll give her a ride. “Want to go for a ride on Aries?” I ask. “Seriously?” Lacy’s eyes are as big as saucers. “He read you as no threat to our mate, so yeah,” I take off my shirt. “Okay, let do this,” she turns around so I can get undressed. Me- Good for it, man. Aries- Let’s do this!

She always knew exactly when to switch from playfulness to seriousness. “What do you think about Gia?” I asked. Aria did not hesitate. “My king,” she said thoughtfully, “if you are asking for my advice, I would say yes.” “She is perfect for Vincenzo.” I frowned slightly. “Don’t you think she’s… too forward?” I asked carefully. “And Vincenzo is too closed.” Aria smiled gently. “Opposites attract,” she said. “Look at us.” I could not argue with that.

“Hello, beautiful.” The woman jumps away at the sound of his soft drawl, and turns to face him, her brow knotted together in displeasure. “Excuse me!” Arlo goes to close the distance between them again, but the woman’s boyfriend steps in. “Is there a problem here?” Arlo disconnects his attention from his prey and runs his eyes over the man between him and the woman he wants. The man in question is a foot taller than him, mildly built but human. Clearly not a challenge for the half lycan.

"Why are you so stubborn? Shouldn't the man be the one pursuing the relationship?" Aria smirked. "That's an old-fashioned mindset, Cedric. Starting a relationship does not have anything to do with gender. You're bound to love who you love, and in this case, you're the one I want to pursue." Cedric leaned back against his seat. "I really can't win this, can't I?" "Nope," Aria smiled as she shook her head. Cedric couldn't refute anything that Aria had said. The girl was too stubborn and strong-willed for her own good. However, the image of Scarlett also flashed in the back of his mind, and along with that are the plentiful and beautiful memories that they have shared.

Linc paced in front of the water before saying, “You know he’s never found his mate.” I kept my pencil moving as I shrugged my shoulders, “Ok, what does that have to do with me? It’s not like I’m his mate. Everyone knows, you feel the chemistry automatically. And we both know what our chemistry looks like. A hand around my throat... some jabbing glares and cutting remarks.” I shoved my hair to the side, unveiling the fading bruises still blanched along my neck. “I know, I know. But just saying. You never know.” He peaked his eyebrows with a grin. Suddenly, his face shot up. “I got it… Aries, I know what your new job is!”
