The words fall from my lips before I have time to consider them, but to my relief the Captain just laughs, pleased. “Not with the other professors,” he says quietly. “With some old friends who have a stake in the Academy itself. Though I do admit,” he says, cocking his head a little, “I was surprised when your Uncle Roger didn’t take the opportunity to bet on his own nephew. Captain Rodgers, a loyal and capable leader, approached me with a respectful nod. "Greetings, Queen Uriah," he greeted me warmly, his voice carrying a sense of authority and dedication. I returned his greeting with a nod, acknowledging his presence. "Captain Rodgers, I trust the training is progressing well?" He nodded, a proud glimmer in his eyes. "Indeed, Your Majesty. Our soldiers are disciplined and prepared for any challenge that may arise." I observed the soldiers with a discerning eye, searching for any signs of unusual behavior or hidden intentions. Each movement was precise, their synchronization a testament to their rigorous training. Yet, my instincts urged me to remain vigilant.

I have always hated hockey players, especially the famous ones, and Carter happened to be the most famous player on campus. He offers his hand, and I remain paralyzed in my place until he refers to Roger, “Alex Knight…where is he?” Roger, even the gentleman takes a deep sigh and responds calmly, “Well, he is out of town.” The handsome stranger gives him one single nod before he turns his attention back to me. “And this pretty lady -” he waits for Roger for the introduction, and I exclaim, my tone carries grace and composure. “I am the second in command. You don’t have to know my name.” With this being said, I turn to walk away with Roger closely following me.
