He looks at me with puppy eyes. "Please, you know I don't like having to deal with them." Carlos' is third generation rich. His grandfather started the Diaz group and his uncle, the first son is the current head. Carlos' dad is a lawyer and the 3rd son but the favorite. Meaning Carlos is the favorite and most privileged grandchild. Both grandparents have spoiled him for years getting whatever he wants.

Carlos claimed to be the son of the Truman family; he should have a rather high status in the family. However, Henry did not have such a person in mind. Could he be a fake? He did not look like a fake, though. Carlos? Henry managed to remember vaguely. Carlos seemed to be the descendant of someone from another branch of the Truman family. Henry had no patience in continuing to read about him when he saw Carlos' name. After all, it was a waste of brain capacity to store the information of such an insignificant person. Henry did not expect to meet Carlos there. Robert was kneeling at their family's ancestral temple. There was no sadness in his eyes; there was even a trace of relief.

Carl sees him enter. "Have a seat." Garrit settles himself on the sofa in front of him. "So?" prompts Carl. "I was able to trace down a descendant of the Oswyn bloodline back in Greece..." Carl shifts a little forward on the sofa. "But, it was a male descendant." Carl feels his anticipation die down, "And?"

The same father I ran away from. The one I swore I’d never go back to.” Manuel didn’t respond. Just looked at him, confused and exhausted. Then Carlos had passed out. Now, as the memory faded, Carlos looked at Manuel and whispered, “Thank you. For coming for me.”

"You will not be given any salary." "Sure, no sweat." Carlos said shrugging, then smirked. "I am the CEO of the company after all." "Yes. But it's not yours yet is it?" Gabriel spat back, making Cindy giggle at her brother's pride being hurt. Carlos shook his head. "Good one dad, good one."

I hissed. “Carlos is her son. I’m Maria’s twin. The real heir to the Fonte's now. And Carlos has known or suspected for a long time. He has been trying to erase me since he found out and you are just his tool for that.” Shock crashed over me cold and suffocating, like falling through ice. Carlos, my ally. My partner in this mess, he is not a la Fonte blood? Not even the heir he had fought for his whole life?

Then, he leaned forward, "She's blood," I must have heard wrong, "What the hell does that mean? What do you mean she's blood?" One thing the Montgomerys took seriously was family. Blood, if you will. So, even if I was not particularly close to a few members of the family, I knew every one of them. “She’s a Montgomery,” Carlos said flatly. “Your brother’s daughter.”
