She literally saw him everywhere. My cell phone rings, cutting off my concentration. It’s Cassian. I pick it up, a smile appearing on my face as soon as I hear his voice. “Working?” he asks immediately. I love how we don’t have to get past small talk—it’s so easy to just fall into conversation with him. “Actually, I was deep into Melia Castellanos’ mind,” I say with a sigh. “That bad?” he asks, sensing that what I was reading wasn’t exactly good.

"You've been failing your lessons." I glanced up from the book I was reading to find Cassian leaning casually against a shelf, arms folded. He had on a white button-up shirt, the sleeves folded up to his elbow. My eyes lingered a little on his veiny, muscular arm before meeting his expressionless gaze. "What're you here for?" I asked as I discreetly dropped the book in my hand. I was supposed to be studying some diplomacy shit but the romance novel with a spicy cover seemed more interesting.

Cassian growls from up the stairs. “I will marry Alpha Brandon.”
