Kicking the snow that had regathered in frustration and feeling completely alone, Mikhail continued on with his walk. Raeann had expected the Ravenclaw coven to look like something out of a Harry Potter novel, all dark, medieval, and imposing. Instead, she found herself standing outside the front gate of a quaint farm cottage, just inside pack lands, that looked disturbingly familiar. A knock on the door confirmed her suspicions. "seanathair Agus seanmháthair(Granddad and Grandma)?.” Raeann’s eyes lit up at the elderly couple beaming back at her.

Then he adds: “As for rent... I can offer something better.” He pulls an old brass key from his coat and places it on the table. “One secret about this castle, in exchange for one secret about yourself.”

“Yeah, sure. I’ll keep her alive while you brood in the dark.” Kael didn’t bite back. Instead, he gestured toward the grand staircase. “Second floor. My closet’s open. Clean yourself up.” Fenrak smirked. “Ah yes, the infamous Kael Draven closet. Two stories tall, filled with relics from kingdoms that don’t even exist anymore. I’ll be sure to pick something fashionable from your collection of dust and moths.” Rhea almost smiled despite herself. Fenrak, for all his arrogance, had a way of cutting tension with his sarcasm. Still, his swagger didn’t hide the limp in his step as he trudged up the staircase, muttering about “brands older than Ashwood itself.”

I pulled open the passenger side of his pickup and hopped in. "Not scared?" he challenged. I just smirked. He didn't say another word, slamming his foot on the gas and sending the truck surging forward. We pulled up in front of a unit at the far end of a row of pre-fabs. This was the temporary housing for the site management and foremen, slightly better than the workers' dorms, but still stripped-back and raw. "This is where you're taking me?" I asked, leaning back against the cool corrugated metal wall as I watched him.

Callista. The castle is humongous. We are parked in the inner courtyard, which is actually very lovely with a nice garden. There is a massive defensive talus surrounding the inner residence building, with a moat surrounding the whole area. The large gate is automated. There are four fortified towers at the four corners of the square talus, armed with, if my sight is reliable, machine guns. I am stunned at this; I did not know that the Rexellen pack actually had any need for machine guns of all things. But then again, what do I know of the Royals. Adara spent all of her free time with Karani and Claire and according to them she made tremendous progress with her powers. Peter took us to see Castlewellan Castle and told us that it was now government owned but that it was built in the 1850’s by the Annesley family. We took a tour of the castle and it was impressive. I could see Adara was having the time of her life.
