I was unpleasantly surprised when I came downstairs. Sienna was standing in my kitchen looking at me like she wanted to kill me. She is my brother’s and Alpha’s best friend. She is 25, just like my brother and Alpha, and she has been hanging out with them since childhood. Now, she is clinging on to them like they are a lifeboat. She was devastated when she found out that neither my brother nor Alpha were her mates. That didn’t stop her from trying to become Luna. She is always around Alpha, proving herself and trying to convince him to take her as his chosen mate.

“You die” Oh. “Well that's one way to put it but I won't die. I have never failed. I won't fail now” I muttered back to her while trying to listen in on the conversation coming from the next room where the woman was. “Her name is medic Seraphina. She's Nyx's mother and a renowned medic around here. You're a Luna or someone of high status, I can tell that much but it'd be a shame if you never heard of Blackheart”

Her plan was simple, public humiliation. Even if she was innocent, Richard, obsessed with purity, wouldn't be able to bring himself to touch a woman that nearly half a hundred subordinates had seen naked. She herself would be too ashamed to show herself. No matter what happens after, becoming Luna or empress would be a pipe dream.

Please welcome them and come to us for any concerns.” A few people turned and looked at Cassie. A little blush crept up on her cheeks but she smiled and waved. Ms. Lucy put a hand on her shoulder and smiled at her. My face stayed passive. Colt sat down and it was my turn.

“Catherine is a wonderful conversationalist.” “To you,” Trevor stressed with annoyance as he poured champagne in their glasses. “Just once I’d like to see that woman let her hair down. And breast implants and ass injections wouldn’t hurt her one bit.” Christopher chuckled as Selena shook her head. Trevor filled his glass to the hilt. “Now, which one was she?” Selena asked. “We didn’t get to speak with her tonight,” Christopher said. “You didn’t meet her.” “But for future reference, Catherine is a lawyer who has short blonde hair, a flat ass, and no chest to speak of, not even small lumps. She has thin lips, but pretty blue eyes.”

"Astra? Luna Astra?" Astra looked up heaving as the lady smiled at her. "Hello? Do I know you?" She greeted the female politely. "Many people know the masquerade but the masquerade does not know many people." The female replied. "How may I help you?" Astra asked, going straight to the point and the lady sighed deeply before she spoke. "I, Seline Knox challenge you, Astra Tomasi for the position of Alpha Izan's mate and the luna of New Dawn pack."

"You two know each other?" Calhoun stated more than asked. "Funny." "There's nothing funny about this, Alpha Calhoun." Lady Maddie said. "This girl has-" "Be careful," Calhoun warned, his demeanor getting serious. "She's not just any girl but the future Luna of the guardian pack." The lady swallowed what she had to say. "Lady Maddie must be replaced, I don't want my dear to feel uncomfortable. Leave." Calhoun ordered.

“She wouldn’t use her own name if she didn’t want to be found. And she shouldn’t have access. We removed all her logins.” His brow furrowed. He was putting the pieces together. “People do stupid things when they want revenge,” I breathed. “Catherine was Luna for six years. She knows the system better than all of us. You can’t guarantee she doesn’t have another way in.” He looked at me again. There was doubt in his eyes—but it wasn’t the kind I wanted. There was doubt about me. ‘Careful,’ Maya warned sharply. ‘He’s wondering why you’re trying so hard.’

“She’s my mate, Callum.” “What?” he breathed. I looked back at her. She was barely conscious, slumped against the cold wall. She looked so frail and underfed. Her breathing was shallow and uneven. I wanted to hold her. To shield her and tear apart anyone who had laid a hand on her. “Open this cell before I break it down myself,” I growled. And I could. I was an Obsidian wolf, one of the most powerful wolves alive. If they refused, I would rip the bars out of the stone and use them to crush their heads.

She turned the side of her neck to show me a mark and my eyes opened when I saw it was a bit similar to mine, but mine was shinier and more precise. Wait, did she say werewolves? Wolf? I touched the mark, causing me to shiver and she nodded at me with a serious but kind look. “You are the Luna. You are Alpha Enzo’s mate.” What? Norman bent his neck towards me and Corey did the same, with Davina and Andrè. I stared confused and lost, it is when a loud giggle was released from across the fields and everyone’s head raised that I realized it was from me.
