Omar! It felt like realisation hit her like a derailed freight train. Omar was walking straight towards Lucas. Lucas was close by, and it was him and his companions that had been hunting them down. But why? Was he working with Alpha Nathaniel to help capture them? That didn't matter right now. Not when Lucas's eyes suddenly focused on Omar and the realisation that he had been caught struck Omar. Chloe practically felt Omar's heart sink into his stomach as his blood ran cold. It felt like time had been frozen while the two males stared at each other. It was too late. There was no escape, but Chloe desperately clung to the hope Omar could make it out of this.

Damon and I moved quickly into the forest together, fallen leaves and pine needles crunching beneath our feet. “Earis will destroy the world after the death of a dragon and a newborn! The hunters will bring Carnage unlike any we've ever seen before and your perfect Luna will lead us to our deaths!” A loud static ringing buzzed inside my head. Willow added. The intercom crackled. "Welcome to The Crimson Hunt! Our most challenging world yet! Specially designed for our favorite troublemakers!" The cheerful voice took on a darker edge. "The Hunters have been tracking deadies for millennia. They've never failed. You'll be their first failure... or their next meal. Either way, it'll be entertaining! Now RUN!" The bus doors exploded outward. We were thrown into the darkness, hitting wet ground that smelled like blood and decay. I scrambled to my feet. The bus was already gone, disappeared into the fog. Around us, the red eyes were moving. Getting closer.

Together we three would forge this last frail chance and let gods decide the rest. Camouflaged by May's clever tricks, we ghosted ever nearer the city's crumbling perimeter while Hunter slipped ahead as diversion. My eyes never left Scar's terrible blackened shape soaring angrily overhead. Sick recognition stirred seeing such catastrophic power chained to chaos again at my unwitting behest.
