But that was when he met a man in the cave. The cave was dark, but the man looked so radiant. His long hair was golden and his body looked slender and tall. Since the weather is changing rapidly, I decided to head out to the caves so we can use them for shelter,” he told me, indicating the North Caves. “It’s not much, but it will help us, in case of a snowstorm. We were blessed with babies this year and I will try my best to keep them safe” Jonah continued proudly.

She barely noticed a mini-bar when her breath hitched upon noticing Aiden approaching her. "Aiden-" "Shut up and listen," his deep cold voice floated in the air and landed on her constricting chest. "Let me tell you a story," Aiden rounded her, eyes boring holes in her skull. "Once upon a time, there was a tribe who lived happily in the world. They were very few but stronger than any kind. Humans happened to find them, they got mad. Humans began killing them and abducting them. Those people faced torture for years before they finally decided to end it for good. Those people began hunting their killers."

But Christopher had become like family. "What do you think of all of this?" Pops indicated the TV as he removed his glasses, setting them on the end table next to his chair. He pinched the bridge of his nose. On the screen, a newscaster was detailing a story about a man who'd been caught kidnapping children and locking them in cages like animals in an underground bunker. He claimed that if the world ended, he would have a way to continue the human race. There'd been two of all kinds of beasts down there as well. He called his bunker Steven's Ark. "Like Noah's Ark from the Bible," the man said, his hair standing on end like he'd been electrocuted multiple times.

They were fighting with each other, climbing on each other, and biting themselves in the cave—like ferocious cannibals. She snapped her fingers and the tunnel filled with light. “What the bloody hell?” If I had seen these monsters when I was making my choice, I might have thought otherwise. They were vile and most of them were drooling as if they were under the command of Pavlov. “Uncivilized monkeys!” The beasts scuttled round the whole cave and arranged themselves, standing with bowed heads. The cave was endless and I wondered how many more were in there if I could already see hundreds from here. “Any movement from you and into the lake of lava you go!”

The stalactites cling to the roof of the cave. But no matter how much they cling they are meant to fall down. As the cave walls continue to crack and fall, the stalactites break and descend upon us like little spears being thrown at an extinct Mammoth. The cave paintings break and the timeline of the Wolf People Clan demolishes before our eyes as we hurry along the corridor.

As the lights continue to flicker on, my eyes adjust to my new surroundings…it is some kind of underground cave.
